Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, Alex Hiiggins, Ronnie O'Sullivan , these are the names of LEGENDS. To mention Willie Thorne as a legend is an insult to those players. And without doubt the worst commentator on the BBC. But to answer your question, yes I believe Willlie still likes a bet.

Shocking bait.

what a bunch of crapp commentators thorne virgo taylor.
bring back clive everton etc. |
By:
neal foulds and phil yates are the best commentators.
virgo and thorne have constant verbal diarrhoea. taylor tells one pointless anecdote after another, totally ignoring what's going on (that's inbetween wishing his plethora of ill friends better health) ken's ok, bit cliche ridden though. clive is now doddering and makes fallacious references a lot. |

i would also disagree with the poster who puts jimmy white among the legends.
i'll give you alex and ronnie on pure ability and davis and hendry on achievement, but white ticks neither of those boxes i'm afraid. |

^^
Have to agree with that. |
By:
phil yates the best commentator??lol.....you are joking surely

tallest dwarf = phil yates

Listen to the way WT commentates - he talks like a punter, 'fancying this', 'back him to make that', 'odds on to clear up etc'. Its in his dna!
Used to wear a huge wide brimmed hat in the ring at cheltenham! |

Carver, I think that's the idea. Snooker has always been inextricably linked with the bookies, that's why Willie will never be replaced.

By:
thorne is different level. end of.

snooker backer (apols for belated reply) - yes, think you are right. Of course Clive Everton is the best. With pink to right middle, Ebdon secures another frame etc etc brilliant
