Bookies price Ding up as fav and rightly so, since he was 2-5 down to Dunn the other day, he's won 16 of the last 19 frames, and demolished the reigning champ in the process.
But Carter seems to be coming back to something resembling form, a good win in the cubicles today over Lee. Consistency was his middle name last year but this is the first thing he's done this season, whereas Ding is in his third quarter-final out of three tournaments.
I'm swaying towards Ding on the handicap here, I think he's better in most departments but the start of the match will be key. Carter front-ran very well against Lee, Ding going ahead early and I think Carter would struggle to come back.

well done jason. i left my big bet on ding on when he was 4-3 ahead and, quite frankly, very pleased i had to go out to an evening investors' presentation in Londion, which meant I couldn't screw it up when it got closer later on. Came back to find I am 500 quid better off. Jolly good stuff!
