Do Betfair have a named charity? Perhaps the community could vote on what charity each month to donate to via you polls?

Could you create a market where we can donate some funds to charity?

It should be quite simple to set up and would look well on the Betfair Community. Perhaps you could set up a poker game where all rake is donated.

Just a few ideas.

Hi - here's a reply from our Corporate Responsibility team: "Thank you very much for your posting.  As part of Betfair’s investment in Corporate Responsibility the company supports local charities and organisations wherever it has an office around the world.  We no longer have an official ‘Charity of the Year’ as being a global business it was increasingly difficult to find a charity which could resonate with the whole business. Instead each office supports charities and organisations that mean something to them and the community in which they work and we welcome feedback from employees and customers about what these should be.

Betfair has also hosted markets where the commission has been given to charity. Most recently a Betfair employee rode in the St Patricks’ Day Derby (charity race) at the Cheltenham Festival and Betfair gave all of the commission from the race to Cancer Research UK who were the beneficiaries of the race.

I'm thinking more of a fixed odds market where you place money on a charity bet in a no-win situation, just a donation.

Also thinking about a weekly over-round of players balances should they opt in. Say every month, any odd pennies is skimmed off and your account is rounded down to the nearest £1. It's money many players wouldn't miss but all those pennies would add up.

We could nominate the charities, you can do the legwork to see if they'll accept us and then we can donate, changing the charity every so often.
