I was wondering if it would be possible for one of the BCM'S to let me know if they knew what the percentages of their customers currently use the New site and the Old site ?
Whenever I read a thread on any of the forums about Old or New version, it seems that nearly everybody uses the Old Version.
If this proved to be the case would it not make more sense to make the Old site and standard, and give people the option of switching to the newer version if they so desired ?

The last time I posted on this section of the forum it was about a BF app for the windows phone.I had no response.
If I don't get a reply to this thread should I start to take it personally ?

Any danger of getting a reply please ?
Or do you just cherry pick on which threads to reply back too?

I'm forced to use both versions, as the old site skipped all the specific coupons in soccerCry

I switched back to old at start of footy season because of the crashes. I found on the "old" site Cashouts werent always on display, but were on the new site. So I went back to the new site and have found that the "what if" function wont work at all now, even though it worked previously. I have gone into options and clicked it on and off endlessly for days now, as well as cleared cookies and logged in and out, it still wont click back on again. So hacked off.

The new site is CRAP

Totally not user friendly

I ALWAYS use the old site

It is time betfair woke up and got rid of the new site
Report takethestand November 17, 2013 4:13 AM GMT
For all Australian markets the old site is still default.  Why do they get best service?

To be honest, I've given up reverting to old site.  Adapting to all the little bugs and things I hate.  Find navigating between lots of markets slow.

There are nice new features but I would give these up for the old site
Report YOMOMMA November 17, 2013 8:57 AM GMT
With having to revert to old site every time I empty cookies and cache together with having to try and keep total charge above 20% to avoid the bizarre PC, I only bet with betfair as a last resort.

Report Just Checking January 5, 2014 11:37 AM GMT
LOL reading this site you'd think they'd foresaken the old site for the new one but new one is apparently worse.

If they do it "right" the old should be able to continue, in a different "skin". It's surely same "data"... but theoretically less f***ed up.

Report Tennyson September 11, 2014 10:41 AM BST
Agree totally that new site is rubbish. It's not easy to navigate, it's ugly and is so like any other bookie site as to make no difference. Since the flotation, it is clear that everything is profit-driven and not customer-caring......... the sheer number of in-your-face casino games and the withdrawal of the lay multiples facility (so what if only 1% used it) being just 2 examples.
Betfair has thrown away it's unique identity and as already noted by someone, FORGOTTEN ITS ROOTS.

It's just absolutely horrible. Their CTO explains it in terms of needing to talk to the new backend platform. Well, how does that explain changing the skin? The backend platform has nothing to do with how the information is presented on screen, and how much space is wasted on oversized fonts and inexplicable empty space.

Honestly, what this looks like is people refusing to acknowledge mistakes everyone can see because of how it will reflect on their previous decisions.

I very rarely complain preferring to try and work a site out. However I hope Betfair do read all posts because the new site is absolutely rubbish. In no way is it customer friendly. For example I have spent 30 minutes trying to find the page for Hulls game kick off 4pm. Have given up. Good luck Betfair Im sure I am not the only one whom you are seeing reduced commission from !!!!!!

Absolute crock of sh1t. Slow, doesn't work properly. Clunky, too many steps. Far worse both in terms of navigating and speed of response.Takes me 6 times as long to do or find anything. Why oh why won't Betfair listen? They have withdrawn the two best ways of using their own site in recent months - ibetmate and the old site. The only thing I can assume is that they want everyone to stop using the exchange and to have to use Betfair Sportsbook. Unfortunately for them, the sportsbook is crap too.

just placed a couple of in-running bets on horse racing markets...it's hopeless.

In all the years of placing through the old site i've never had an issue and the response time was good. On the new site just get a swirling circle and the race had finished before anything registered...I placed the bets over a furlong out.

Looks like i'll just use this site for pre match/race markets...in-running is finnish!

Can't stand the new site, the colours (esp the dayglo orange banner at the top) give me eyestrain/headache.  According to their twitter customer service person, they won't be changing that, so I'm out - bye bye betfair, you should have listened to your customers.  It wasn't broke but you insisted on "fixing it" so that it's now unusable, well done.
Report merecat_ August 2, 2015 1:06 AM BST
I tried to use it on my Android tablet - it wouldn't even render my open positions. I tried FF and Chrome. The old site is fast by comparison and it works. The new site also reloads pages for each market selected - if that wasn't annoying enough the list of markets also jumps around like crazy after selecting one, so if you're drilling down you keep selecting the wrong thing. It's quite obvious the people who develop it do not use it regularly. Tried the 'full site' and mobile friendly versions. Not happy with them at all. I can write my own software and will be developing a replacement for the standard UIs if the old Betfair UI is removed as it simply DOES NOT perform well enough. I don't have anything against the new site - it might work for some people - but why take the old one away if many people are happy with it?

Just opened up the tennis market and the back/lay looks like a little lost sole

up a race market, the list along the top stops at News and tips until you open a race market

I can't actually get to the markets I want.
Trying to navigate to a tennis match is hell: the list of tournaments scrolls up under the betfair banner.
Then if you're fast enough, on your fifth attempt after memorising the position of the tournament, you click on it and end up on some betfair football url.
On top of this, if you manage to get to a market, you can't actually leave your computer for such trivial activities as sleeping, because you get logged of automatically (there is an age restriction, therefore it would be nice to be treated like adults who can take responsibility for restricting access to their computer) and you have to start the whole dance again.
Give us back the option of a working classic site, earn more commission, let us bet instead of rant and pull out our hair.

Even as I'm posting here about how unworkable the site is, the interface gets updated.
Finally I can get to a Hopman cup match, Heather Watson v Caroline Garcia.
The bad news is that the match page is also unworkable:
There is only the option to back either at specified odds, you cannot see the liquidity, you cannot change the odds. Presumably, with the 5 second delay the only way you'll successfully place a bet is if you happen to back the 'losing' player and your bet is placed at enhanced odds.
Report coldiron January 4, 2016 11:21 AM GMT
Scratch the above post -- somehow I was kicked into the sportsbook, the exchange still malfunctions as before, can't get to the Hopman cup match mentioned because of scrolling, etc.

Left hand nav is "Fixtures 05 January", "Fixtures 06 January", "Winner".

Pick "Fixtures 05 January"

Pick "Czech Republic vs Ukraine"

3 Matches listed

Pick one

Offered "Match Odds" or "Set Betting"

Pick one

And the market opens in the Aus version of the classic website
