Just lately it has been almost unusable on here, very sticky, and its only on here, just wondering if it has anything to do with the launch of this,

Betfair has launched a new web browser add-on enabling users to view the Betting Exchange's prices and place bets on Betfair while browsing the websites of most of its competitors.

'Betfair Everywhere' is a Google Chrome plug-in extension which uses keyword technology to overlay Betfair's odds on the websites of its competitors.

The add-on also allows users to view Betfair odds and place bets while surfing other selected sports news websites (including Betting.Betfair).

Hi - I have checked this with the team that have developed Betfair Everywhere, and we have verification that there is no impact on site performance if you are running Chrome and have Everywhere and the main Betfair site running concurrently. If you are having issues, I'll happily arrange for the Help Desk to contact you.

Hi BCM2,not using the betfair everywhere plug in,have no need, just use betfair and not other bookmakers, but GC is very sticky when using betfair and this problem has only recently occurred,so was wondering if this in some way was effecting the use of chrome normally, its a shot in the dark tbh,but iam not alone in having trouble with GC on here, its fine on other sites i must add.

If you google it you will see there is a common problem with shockwave and google. Google downloads its version of shockwave when downloading google chrome. To run shockwave on other browsers you have download separate copies of shockwave and you can therefore easily have three copies and they start to conflict. If y0u type in the browser of google  chrome chrome://plugins it will tell you what plugins you have and if you have multiple copies.
The web will give you some solutions to this common problem if you type in shockwave crashes.

I had multiple copies of flash, now disabled them and working fine now thanks to PlaceyGrin

Not using BFanywhere or beta, just the standard site (on Chrome) and from time to time the refresh button becomes more and more unresponsive. The delay between putting bets through and getting to the my bets window (to then be able to edit the bets or cancel them) was taking up to 10 seconds after the IP clock had completed, for me this morning (on the IP AFL match odds).  At one  point I got a Chome window suggestion I close 3 of my bf tabs, including market pages and the current bets page, as it seemed to have stalled completely for 20+seconds.  It was happening to me yesterday on IP Bowls too.
Interestingly, when I look at my CPU usage, it was maxing out at 100% at the critical times.  In general, markets have often been very slow to load for a few days now.

Told by the helpdesk not to use chrome but Firefox instead.  Pity they couldn't reply on here, or to my email. It's obviously my job to inform other users having similar problems too.
Very poor, Betfair.

turnip turns.

Aswell as BLOCKING ALL 'Third Party Cookies' - on ALL Browsers -

I also manually block - via 'Exceptions' - google.co.uk - and - google-analytics.com

It does not inhibit searching on Google - But it stops a heck of a lot of 'Tracking' - on ALL Sites signed up with google-analytics.

I very, very, rarely, if ever, find any 'Tracking Cookies' whenever I run Spybot, Malwarebytes, or Super antispyware.

You are lucky.

It 'blacks your screen out'.

For most people - the constantly spinning Account Refresh Button - does not even work.Grin

Google chrome not working for me either, lets me log in then says I have £0.00 in my account which I dont and when I try and click on account details it says account unavailable. Using Firefox at the moment and the scroll down bar at the right hand side is now missing so having to use arrow screens to get about....WTF is going on Betfair???

Surely enough people are using chrome to warrant a fix of these problems. Menus just don't display as they should do.

I can confirm that BF is the worst of the Websites I visit on the Internet, by far, as far as memory use in Chrome goes.

This is extremely worrying and frankly I find it severely unprofessional that BF rolled out this version without proper testing. People are losing money due to browser issues that are completely avoidable with some minimal decency on part of BF.

Namely, all the other crap that is hosted on the site is seriously affecting the users of primary site functionality.

Namely:
Casino
Live Casino
Poker
Exchange Games
Arcade
Super Slots

Why the **** needs this crap on a sports betting exchange? Yes I know that it is a sort of stupidity tax but people with actual working brains do not need to suffer because of BFs greed. Catch the fish some other way.

BTW I am using the Chrome Task Manager to kill the pages and do memory dumps (this is the way I know BF is the problem site, since I can see the memory use).

Even so, I have to actually be online to do it frequently since if it gets too heavy the TM does not open and I have to shut down the browser, wait a bit, turn it on, log in again, and prey that I did not suffer losses due to time lag caused by all this.

Beta site isn't working for me in Chrome either. If I go to the beta.betfair.com page, the site appears to load but absolutely nothing is clickable. The whole tab is just frozen and unresponsive.

For years they've simply shrugged their shoulders and said "Use FireFox" but how can they
design a site that doesn't work properly with the single most popular browser in the world?

I find that with Chrome some tabs will crash outright, needinga re-load and others will stay circling for ages. Others will load fine, some after a delay, some not. there seems no way to predict which, or set particular tabs to have priority on resources.

Having to many tabs open, across several windows, what I end up doing a lot of the time is moving all the BF tabs into one window. Any that do the circling thing I pull a fresh tab from another window and copy the url into it and close the stubborn one - no idea why this works. Using a new tab from the same window doesn't seem to work so well.

Next thing is to use One-Tab and save all the other tabs and windows into that for later access. I usually have "The Great Suspender"active on all non-essential sites as well.

So when markets are busy you should end up with just you BF market tabs open in one window, plus maybe the chat forum and any live stream, radio or price feed sites. It also helps to clear the browser cache from time to time.

Eventually you just have to bite the bullet every few days and do the dreaded restart, but at least that sorts out all the memory leakage.
