Site like wading through custard last couple of it just me (and boogie cat) or are others finding it the same?
Report wit-ham February 22, 2011 6:42 PM GMT
do you mean everytime you get a bet matched or refresh the market  freeze's ??
Report tommycockles February 22, 2011 7:26 PM GMT
Yes, market freezes when refreshing, and sometimes when placing bet there's a 'freeze' during the 5 second countdown (when in play) and a couple of moments left wondering if the bet is in the system or not. Been a nightmare trying to trade the cricket the past couple of days. Yesterday could not get a couple of markets to load at all, despite clearing cookies etc and re-booting several times.

Was beginning to think it's time for a new laptop but dont want to get a new one and find it's a problem at b/f's end. A bit of feedback from them would help.

Report Eddie the eagle February 24, 2011 10:11 AM GMT
Mully and others , check if it's the memory bug that is fukking things up.
Just watch the memory usage in the task manager a few times during your session.
You will probably see that it's incresing all the time when on Betfair and activly using the site.
Only thing to do is close down the browser and reopen.
This can take a while though if you let the memory usage get to high before you do it.
Report Betfair Community Manager 2 February 24, 2011 10:27 AM GMT
Eddie and others

The memory issue is very close to being resolved - it took us a while to get a solution, but all being well we'll have a temporary patch in place next week with a permanent fix to follow soon after that.

I know it's been a real nuisance for you, so apologies - but thanks for letting us know about it, and then bearing with us.
Report good value losers February 24, 2011 11:57 AM GMT
if we could get back to the original issue, it's still happening

Report Mully February 24, 2011 1:29 PM GMT
Correct Eddie-come 5pm it took ages to close down and re-open. I've downloaded the new beta version of Firefox today which has helped considerably.

"Sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties. An error has occurred on the server. You may need to refresh your browser."

Report Community_Tech__Support April 1, 2011 3:15 PM BST
Hi all,

We believe we have discovered the cause for this problem. In most case our testing shows that once you click "ok" the message, you should no longer receive it. But it seems reading this forum a lot of users get the message every time they login. Which I can understand is very frustrating.

If we have a user(s) will try something, then I would like to suggest the following;

Delete Session Cookies.

    Internet Explorer (Versions 6, 7, and 8)

Open Internet Explorer and click on "Tools" on the toolbar. A drop-down menu will appear.

        Click on "Internet Options."

Click on "Settings" in the "Browsing History" section.

Click on "View files" to see all the cookies that are saved on your computer.

Highlight a cookie, and press the "Delete" key to delete it, or highlight all of them to delete the contents of the entire cookies folder.

    Mozilla Firefox

Open Mozilla Firefox and click on "Tools" on the Menu bar at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Options..."

        Click on the "Privacy" tab.

Click on "Show Cookies" in the "Cookies" section.

Highlight a cookie, and click on "Delete Cookie" to delete it, or click on "Delete All Cookies" to clear the cookies folder.

Some of the QA testing I have done shows that delete sessions cookies for Betfair does resolve this issue. So im hoping a willing forumite can try this, and reply back their results.

just to add to the numbers - been happening to me as well for a while now, both my machines, both using firefox. Done all the obvious - cache/cookies/startpage.

Anyway, I did it again : Deleted ALL cookies, shutdown browser. Start Browser, start Betfair. OK now, but lost my start page (obviously), so select SPORTS as the startpage and shutdown browser.
Start browser, start betfair and up comes the message again.

There must be some clues there.

Cookie deletion has not resolved it for me. Laptop runs on Vista and PC runs XP.

Hi Mully,

We released a software fix this morning which we believe has fixed the "tech diff" pop up at log in. I know you have experienced this, so could you please provide feedback, specifically if you are still getting the error at log in.

Report Mully April 5, 2011 3:32 PM BST
No pop ups today on either machine so it looks like it worked. Good stuff.

Just what you need when you're frantically trying to log in again after the site has frozen yet again mid-race owing to the unresolved memory-leak disaster.

I had this for a while and it went away so I forgot about it but it's started again the last few days, thought it was just me so hadn't bothered with the forums.

I'm using firefox.
