I only ever want to speak to the helpdesk. 9 times out of 10 it is totally irrelevant who I am, so why do you insist on wasting my time. I'm usually in a bad mood by the time I've got through and therefore have little patience with your helpdesk staff, who often explain that it's to speed things up your end. Well how nice for you to be able to operate more efficiently, while alienating your customers and encouraging the notion that you really don't care about us.

I've been complaining about it since it was introduced but have never been given an alternative number, or a satisfactory reason as to why it's necessary to waste the time of anyone calling your "help"desk.
