Thought it would be good to have some early views on the forthcoming spectacle. Be great to hear from all of you rugby folk....
My personal opinion is that New Zealand are the best side I have seen this year closely followed by South Africa.I can already hear the moans from the Irish and French supporters. I feel that the French have got too many injuries and the Irish just wont be good enough on the day ...but these are my own views .I cant see any other team winning it. The draw has to come into the equation and it makes it tough on the best 4 teams,that is another reason I feel the All Blacks will win as they are so tough to beat. A good each way bet at the prices are Australia as the draw has been very kind to them.
There are bound to be some terrific in running bets if you know where and when to look over the tournament, so good luck all.

too much depends on the ref in this game (rugby in general), imo. 
Think a red would be harsh, guy was slipping ,
2 yellows and a red world cup final 30 mins,games a fooking farce might as well play it on a computer screen and everyones safe

Ok so we all want consistency, so what happened with the TMO last night missing forward passes in the England game , and nothing said , no TMO getting a warning. But hey ho move forward 24 hours and the TMO wants to let everyone know he is working. Still the the red was harsh don't care what the studio guys are saying.Player got straight up and wasn't even injured.

Ok won't argue with you Brentford, but for me there was not a high degree of danger, but will leave it there.
First contact was the shoulder, it's a contact sport ffs.
as I've said I think the bar is unrealistically high in player responsibility - so we probably agree a lot in many areas.
sometimes wonder why the players bother. It's seems to be all about the Officials to me.

Three one point wins , hooker let off for racial remarks , player sent off in final , TMO getting involved so much in final , it sort of sours it somehow. Congratulations I know for winning, but I don't believe it was a great final. Think All Black's should of brought on Mckenzie a little earlier and kept Araan Smith on.
But then if scored conversion or penalty it would of been different

Looking back at this tournament the French must be kicking themselves.
game was close as the SA missed 2 gift trys.Arendse knocking on and Kolisi having an overlap that he didnt take.NZ played well 2nd half but not quite enough. Mbon going off in the 3rd minute didnt help SA.

I don’t think it was a great World Cup. It was too long. The intensity was sporadic. It did finish well but these sending off’s need looking at. Some great skillfull rugby played by the top 4 sides that does not mean England or Argentina.
The money men are ruining our sports. Same with the cricket World Cup.

sport in general is being ruined.last nights game a great example,off topic but its creeping into cricket as well now with these umpires decisions.it can be clipping stumps and given out,so if ump gives original your done,if he doesnt and hitting half ball your ok
games a joke so loony pundits turn it into an x factor back story about barret will he ever get over that kick, i assume in the same amount of time the bloke who missed the conversion gets over it,and pundits didnt mention it once, a missed pen 10 mins from time means nothing ,if you get it 99% of time means your defending deep in your own half a min later
Last night the first try by New Zealand which was not given eventually by the TMO was ridiculous. A great piece of skill by Mowanga, Barnes had screamed "no knock on " about 5 times during the action after the line out so the players of both teams responded. Then after all that , the euphoria of scoring, to be called back , basically because the referee in his good intentions to keep the game flowing, to be called back for a slight knock on even though the South African forward had committed an earlier penalty was a joke.The TMO like VAR in football are ruining the game as a running spectacle in my opinion. (Actually the cricket version as Nineteen Points raised is another stupid idea)

Need to go down rugby league route. 13 a side. Guaranteed more space to play the game properly and stop 30 fat men sitting on the ball in the middle of a pitch for half an hour. Good point there. It was a nz penalty. Why was advantage not played?

Rugby union was/is my sport growing up and nothing else really mattered, sports wise that is.
This tournament has got to go down, by the proverbial country mile, as the worst World Cup event of all time.

Just interested why you you say that Slippy, is it the TMO or just the way the tournament was run in your view? I have actually really enjoyed some of the games ,Portugal playing well, the excitement of seeing Chile players enjoying a try , lesser countries getting a chance on the world stage.I love rugby the same as you and was almost brought up with a rugby ball in my cot ! It will leave a void in my television schedule not having these games to watch on the weekends. The only thing that really annoys me is the way the TMO have taken over the games and are almost telling the referee what to do, but no mention of when they get it wrong ie with the laughable decision of the so called non forward pass in the England v Argentina game. Yesterday, we had a Red card that could of been a yellow and a yellow card that could of been a red.Huge calls that affect a game but are being decided by idiots!!
the laughable part of this weekend and even tv picking up on it last night and espically,the argentinian scrum half practicaly throwing threw no 8,s legs at the back off the scrum, the term CROCKED FEED now redundant in rugby , other than giving pplayers a rest if their worried about players safety wont be long before scrums are done away with,and as mentioned above rugby union will be gone and everyone will play rugby lg or as it will be known RUGBY
Someday we will all be together I still call Aus home.
