Well lets hope for a better game today! Faf de Klerk missing is a huge plus for the Lions as he has been superb in the last two games. Surprised at the Lions back row and cant believe VDM has kept his place , hope I am wrong. Also no Farrell on the bench is a surprise. Biggar only passed the ball three times last week, we have to move the ball quicker away from the forwards, would of liked to have seen Marcus Smith get a chance . Also Simmonds should start . The Lions are good enough to win if they move the ball. Also lets hope the referee does not want to be man of the match!!
Need a fast paced game and one player omitted who I think would aid a fast paced game is Louis Rees-Zammit who is absolutely electric. Only 20 i think but has the potential to become one of the greats of the game.

Gatland come out and said need the game to flow and not be stopped every few minutes for an injury but how do you know if the South Africans are genuinely injured or just feigning injury in an attempt to slow the game down.

Hope your wrong Angoose, South Africa losing 2 of their best players isnt going to help them, and the best way to stop the South Africans'feigning' injury is always to be ahead of them on the scoreboard!! Agree dbtb about Zammit, played really well in the warm up games and at least deserved to be on the bench. Probably the fastest player we have got when he gets the ball.

Decided to have a small lay of SA @ 1.69 in the absence of Faf de Klerk. Pleased to see Liam Williams starting as well for the Lions.
GL ladies and gents !

The scoreboard is the worry for the Lions. Should be much further clear. Agree they should have taken the 3 at the end their.
Greening up at half time for me.

Feeding ?? Don't make me laugh, I was a hooker at a decent level, Phil Keith-Roache no less was my coach.
I was taught how to strike against the head successfully. Scrum halves have been feeding into the second row for years, no need for a specialist hooker these days like Sean Fitzpatrick. Just have 3 props.

I enjoyed the series but it wasn't exactly a vintage one to put it mildly. Far too many stoppages in the three games and overall I would say the Saffers probably deserved it.

Terrible captaincy, Martin Jonson and Johnny Wilkinson would be going mad. How stupid not to take the three points 4 times absolute madness. The game should of been won in the first half. Front three found wanting at the end, plenty of chances to draw/win in the last 10 minutes, shame we couldnt catch a high ball again.

dvd (and streaming) sales of the 'behind the scenes story of the tour' will be non existent. 3 utterly forgetful games with no memorable plays from either side, The only thing this tour will be remembered for is Erasmus' appalling cheating behaviour. That and the 18 month ban he will get from world rugby to put other coaches off from dong it - mind you it worked., so a salmon the worst it is andenbarassing questions ignored it is then. SA have 1 way of playing and I hope his tour will be the straw that broke Eddie Jones' back and they will be left behind in the coming years as no one else in the world can watch tihs carp week in week out. Ok, huff and puff and be physical and thus earn the right to be expansive but Sa don't bother with the last part!

San Q, Its obviously a matter of opinion of course, but I dont think 'Gatts' and his team have done a great job at all. Todays game was there for the taking, and its not a case of not wanting to draw when you dont take easy kicks in the first half. The All Blacks never do it , nor did the South African team. We are not talking about a Barbarians fun game , but a series decider. If you watch the game again, Liam Williams ,who I wanted to play , dropped two or three high balls as did Ali Price just before he was replaced which led to a South African penalty.Actually Williams not passing at the end of the first half was another bad call. In my opinion , and its only that, is why play outstanding flowing rugby in the friendly games and then change the team and the method of playing in the big games. What happened at half time , like last week we were winning and then beat in the second half. Something is going wrong in the team talks and application. (rant over)

Well I cannot for the life of me think that the Lions " did a good job" as you put it S.Q. How can losing a series and playing incredibly mediocre, at best, be deemed to be a success?
Your opinion of course but we'll have to agree to disagree on this as I think the exact opposite.

Slippy just a point of correction ,never at anytime have I said a good job, infact a"great job" was what was said. All in all under terribly trying ,taxing circumstances a great job was done by all involved with the Lions.I for one applaud.

For me the worst thing about the series was that no kids will be enchanted by the story of the Lions as I was a young boy. Tests 1 and 3 were truly gripping for the hardened rugby fan but the second test was a tough watch. Stats like Biggar's three passes in the second test and no tries from the backs highlight a definite lack of ambition however trying the circumstances and how close the Lions came to winning the series.
