Its a genuine cult in the US. I believe that most politics follows an element of cultism. Political leaders detach them selves from the general public and live in bubbles surrounded by supporters. None of them have any understanding of what the general public believes or wants as they have no interaction with them.

If you don't all have identical opinions on every major issue you will be cancelled, and that is exactly how cults behave, they get the cult members to punish each other for wrongthink. PorP what news organisations are literally being cancelled? The media orgs that were banned for not recognising the Gulf of America were only banned from certain white house events. They were not cancelled and in any case no journalist has an automatic right to be invited. They have still their first amendment rights fully in tact.

I am not allowed in the press briefing room either but I don't feel like I have been cancelled. I would expect the more credible journalists would naturally get priority, but there's no automatic entitlement to be there. Banning them from the briefings is not cancellation. Cancellation is where the left has routinely got people fired and debanked for expressing the wrong opinion and they are prevented from living their life and you lefties try to pretend not being invited somewhere is being cancelled. It's not in any way cancelling them and if they work hard and start being more honest they might be invited back.

Having someone allowed access and then denying them access, simply because they can't follow your silly naming convention as they're international, is the very definition of cancelling. If they had started using the name they would still be there.

But on the subject of people holding the wrong opinion, we can add to the list Trump's request for people to snitch on co-workers using equality terms, and last week opened a webpage for parents to snitch on schools doing similar. Joe McCarthy must be looking on jealously at the amount of cancelling going on.

Yes I think I heard something about that snitching, sounds like a good way to reduce waste, fraud and abuse. You could sack 90% of government workers without any noticeable deterioration of service. If there are some of them who want to use silly pronouns, or other woke nonsense phrases, they will go to the front of the redundancy queue because there is a high probability their goals will not be aligned with what the current administration is trying to do.
