The Sentencing Council for England and Wales in 2025 consists of 14 members, including judicial and non-judicial representatives. Below is a list of known current members:
Judicial Members
Lord Justice William Davis (Chairman) – Appointed as Chair in August 2022, he is a Court of Appeal judge with extensive experience in criminal law35.
Lord Justice Tim Holroyde – Vice-President of the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) and a long-serving judicial member since 20153.
Jo King JP – Magistrate member, serving since October 2020, with leadership roles in the magistracy3.

From April 1st, if you are White British you will be more likely to be sentenced than non White or Minority Groups. Those responsible I have named above.

Yes, looks like TWO TIER JUSTICE/SENTENCING is to be formally enshrined in law. It more or less has been informally implemented of course.
Whether "ethnic minority" treatment also applies to White people in the many Culturally-Enriched/Majority Non-White parts of Britain is another matter.

One of those where the perception is probably more important than the practical.
The point of the guidelines is trying to address the inequality that sees black and ethnic minority accused getting longer sentences than white people for the same crimes. In trying to solve that they come out with this gobbledegook. As the guy says, the reality is that it probably won't make any real material difference but it just looks bad. Hence you've had politicians from both sides of the aisle come out against it.
The point of the guidelines is trying to address the inequality that sees black and ethnic minority accused getting longer sentences than white people for the same crimes. In trying to solve that they come out with this gobbledegook. As the guy says, the reality is that it probably won't make any real material difference but it just looks bad. Hence you've had politicians from both sides of the aisle come out against it.
It's not just colour is it. Christians are supposed to get more time than non Christians as it stands.

Well they've made a dog's dinner of it, but the point is actually that Christians get lighter sentences than non-Christians. This is trying to address that.

Well the evidence says yes. At least when you step back and look at the data, and not just base it on one case.
The prison population is 96% male.

It's obviously an effort from the establishment to formalise what's already tacitly going on.
An attempt to manipulate the crime figures is most likely.
It's consistent with their ideology, white privilege and 'minority' oppression. As I state, it's already tacitly happened, but they couldn't get away with formalising it under a Tory gvnt. Tories just looked the other way.

And they didn’t.
As Joshua says - all that the Guideline emphasises is the need to obtain information, in the form of a Pre-Sentence Report. It categorically does not (contrary to The Times’ hysteria today) demand “softer sentencing for minorities”.

What evidence is there that non whites get longer sentences for the same crimes if they make the same pleas?
We have seen enough EVIDENCE of the two tier justice system in this country
Gulidford 4, Birmingham 6 and hundreds of cases like The Oval 4, the Stockwell 6 all convicted of crimes because of bent policemen

That really doesn't seem to control for difference in severity of offences, whether they pleaded guilty or not, whether 1st offence or not....
So not much evidence of anything really.
The one table that is fairly specific on the offence 'Possession of a controlled drug - Class B (cannabis)' gives imprisonment figures of 17% black and 16% white.
So hardly much evidence of huge disparity there, but that table also says 53% of people of Chinese ethnicity are put in prison for that! Which makes me doubt the quality of the data altogether.
Other data seems too vague 'Assault of an emergency worker' which could mean anything between a shove and knocking someone out cold.

Put up the government stats and then we can analyse the official ones.
With this kind of racism taking place in the NHS and Courts, and the outward lies from a Tory government about immigration, how is it possible to believe these lies from any of the mainstream political servants of the elite illiterate. They have taken away a realistic retirement age, they now want to reduce benefits and reduce staff at NHS yet it is too much for them to consider taxing themselves? yes
Do they really think the poor have the same mindset for the establishments obvious biases against the poor?
Some do by the looks of things, well those that do will soon appreciate their fall from grace (poor to much poorer).
They need your taxes to fund Weapons that they say they have not got?? Fiddles big time been going on, where are our Nuclear Weapons? Why do they need US Nuclear weapons in Poland if they have been paying for Poland's own Nuclear weapons?? They should do an audit on the UK weapons and Nuclear Weapons, me thinks they have been spending your money elsewhere over the last 50 years???
