How appropriate! I think he deserves to be accorded this title for his enormous sense of self-entitlement. A sitting Prime Minister accepting (non-monetary donations) eg clothes, glasses, etc, from a Labour peer just because these are allowed within politics; his wife Lady Shameless accepted non-monetary donations too.

These non-monetary donations were permitted under the rules but why from a Labour peer, and another individual? These donations would always be construed as gifts or bribes or detachment from real people, and attract criticisms rightfully. It's so blatantly obvious.

If these donations were needed and necessary could HMRC not have helped? This would be the most appropriate avenue to embark on; accepting these from a private donor esp a Labour peer is incorrect, distasteful and lacking judgment for a sitting PM who is always in public life. As for Lady Shameless...two peas from the same pod.

These donations cannot be reconciled with the cancellation of Winter Fuel payment for some pensioners. This episode will always come to haunt the Labour Party in the future.

Is this the lowest of the low by 5 most senior Labour Cabinet ministers eg sitting Prime Minister & his wife, Deputy Prime Minister and the Chancellor? I've never known anything of this nature or calibre ever before. And, I do not think this will be surpassed in terms of poor taste, poor judgement, and a despicable sense of self-entitlement stretching the limit and morality of acceptance of donations by a supporter.

It is plain wrong but so is his salary.

A Prime Minister should get a salary of £500k. Christ Lineker gets twice that for introducing 30 MotDs

To be the PM of the UK should be an honour, and it must not be governed by its salary. It should be a privilege. A retired PM is also entitled to claim an allowance for life. As such, the final salary per annum could be significantly more. But, these non-monetary "donations" cannot be allowed as they are opened to abuse and criticism.

I remember I started a job which required a few new shirts, trousers and ties. I made sure I budgeted these from my salary. Sir Shameless could have done the same, if genuinely hard-up. But, Sir Shameless is not; he was a former head honcho at the CPS and successful lawyer for many years.

Self-entitlement of this kind in public office is wrong and unprofessional; a conflict of interest is invited.

Where does it end though?

Pay more to the Growler so she can afford to stay in a luxury Penthouse in New York? Pay more to Bridget Phillipson so she can have a nice 40th Birthday party?

Sir Shameless is the PM. He was also the former head honcho at the CPS. He's wealthy too.

I just like our politicians esp those representing UK Plc at senior and public level like PM, Deputy PM and Chancellor to name three to show some understanding and sensitivity of public perceptions ie be genuine and decent, good public taste and practise what they preach not feather their own nests within the rules of governance of British politics eg accepting donations (cash and otherwise) for personal gratification.

These individuals can afford more than most of the British public; their above annual remunerations and allowances plus expenses exceed significantly more that of most British working subject. This is what I find distasteful and abhorrent.

Sir Shameless and Lady Shameless will never be perceived with respect in public as a result. In public eg racecourses echos of here comes The Shameless.

And, neither will Ms Rayner and Ms Reeves. What's in it for you personally Ms Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum? As long as these characters are associated with the Labour Party my disassociation will persist.

I think Mr John Smith (KC) will turn in his grave for the disrepute and controversy Sir Shameless has brought to British politics and the Law Profession and Society.

You Labour groupies hate Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. Now you are citing them in defence of a supposedly socialist prime minister Laugh The glaring, unmissable point is that he isn't any different, but incessantly told everyone that he was. He is, what many people already knew, a socialist of the champagne vintage.

Whatever one's political persuasion eg Conservative, Labour or Lib, etc, what the Shameless 1st British political couple did was the lowest of the low. They are supposed to represent the British people yet putting self gratification and self-entitlement 1st and foremost bringing shame and disrespect to British Politics and people. This Labour Party under the governance of a leader who was a former CPS top dog should have known better.

If in doubt ask any lawyer (I'll ask a lawyer friend) whether what the Shameless Starmers did would be ethical and approved by her profession and the Law Society.

The Shameless Starmers are political scums, and beyond redemption. I for one will not hesitate to call them out in public, if I just happen to bump into them esp at racecourses. And, Ms Rayner and Ms Reeves. They are political scums too!
