In the so called "free" Western World we are at present, being judged and even cancelled for the words we speak and actions we take.

But sometime in the near future, assuming Telepathy becomes possible, will our thoughts that we think about also be judged or cancelled as well?

Is there a place outside of the "free" Western World where people aren't judged for the words they speak and the actions they take?
Report edy September 13, 2024 12:28 PM BST
Like, if you go all Scott Ritter mode and want to meet with minors for undue things, you are judged negatively in pretty much every society outside of Russia probably. And rightly so are you judged for that very uncool action, don't you agree?

Governments across the West seem to be aiming for a multi coloured Stepford type world.
Everyone voicing the same opinions, dissent discouraged and stamped out. I don't remember
any poor or struggling people in Stepford. Good luck with that.

What's your opinion on the Star Trek franchise, saddo?

Outrageous isn’t it Gamer

Your hero Peter Sutcliffe was judged for his actions, no wonder you are so upset.
Amazingly he isn’t the only one… Dr Shipman was also judged for his actions & to complete the Cordon/Jones connection I also discovered that Fred&Rose were also judged on their actions.

This so calls “free” world really isn’t that free . These people put in prison just because they were judged for their actions.

Obviously no but in the West where people supposedly have individual freedoms such freedom of speech, owning privatized businesses for profit etc, they should know better!

Report edy September 13, 2024 3:06 PM BST
What do you mean they should know better? Judging people for their actions is a tremendously vital part of what makes a society work. Or do you actually disagree that e.g. this should be judged?

Like, if you aren't judged for cheating in a video game and punished accordingly, it just makes the game work so much less for everyone involved. It is absolutely vital that cheats are called out and condemned to the utmost.

In case you're wondering, No I most certainly don't think he was a hero.

All those people weren't judged for their thoughts about what they did BEFORE taking action.

EVERY action started with a thought about it.

My question is if anybody can be judged by their words & actions, will they also be judged by their thoughts as well?

You really think "thought crime" will be reduced?

Hmm very interesting...

Well, there are some proper bad thoughts out there. If someone thinks "I want to cheat real hard in all the video games" they should be viewed differently than someone who thinks "I would never ever cheat".

If someone does not want to be judged for their thoughts, they could always wear a tinfoil hat to prevent the thought corresponding electromagnetic waves from reaching the devices that read one's thoughts.

Or any other materials that work as blockage for electromagnetic waves.

Perhaps you have come up with a brand new idea for a book/film/mini series.

Imagine in the future there were three clairvoyant people who the police could use to identify crimes before they happened.
Then the police could arrest these people before they murdered anybody.

Obviously needs a plot twist, what happens if the three don’t agree with each other? Could somebody who understood the system be able to fool the three into giving an incorrect report.

I’ll let you run with your brilliant original thought provoking idea, which actor would you choose to be the hero?

Yes it's true there are bad thoughts out there just like bad actions & words.

But if any government agency can predict things such as criminal acts, then whats to stop them from also predicting future general election outcomes, thus eliminating the need for free elections?

All of this may become possible with telepathy technology.

I doubt mind reading is going to be possible at a distance.
Report edy September 13, 2024 5:01 PM BST
On the other hand, if it is possible, then political actors could finally know what the population wants. They could also e.g. for certain figure out that swathes of the new/alt right is just bad faith and they don't actually believe any of the "opinions" they spread.

People should only be judged for their actions if it can be proved free will exists.

Most actions are start by thinking about it.
