In a highly emotional interview, Angela Carini has just explained that she abandoned because she had never been punched so hard.
Imane Khelif said nothing. And this is the issue that the IOC's Mark Adams suggested everyone should just 'dial down'.
An absolute scandal

There should be a name given to this social media phenomenon of proudly showing to the public how thick you are. In the past people would slink away or make a quick apology. But the doubling down now in the face of all the evidence is just a weird thing. Germans must have a name for it surely.

You posted on this thread, that you found it very funny that a female boxer is complaining about being hit too hard by a male boxer. She has suffered a suspected broken nose.
That's a unique sense of humour in anyone's book.

Its hardly funny letting a man fight a woman when that could result in serious injury or even death and lets not forget we are also robbing women in sports of the chance to fulfill ambitions that they have worked years and years for.

Is there actually confirmation out there that they are both trans women that transitioned from male to female? I read that Khelif has X and Y chromosomes, but I cannot find a transitioning history on the quick or information on their reproductive system. Similar story with the Taiwanese person.
The science of biology is not as binary as the bible and its feverish supporters and culture warriors would like us to fool us with. There's e.g. the Swyer syndrome where humans have more or less typical vulvas, but they possess both X and Y chromosomes. Maybe this or another intersex condition is the case here. The Daily Mail writes in that regard
According to feminist website Reduxx, both are thought both are impacted by a Difference of Sexual Development (DSD), a series of medical conditions identified at birth where genitalia is atypical in relation to chromosomes.
This is Reduxx's direct quote
While neither have stated they identify as transgender, it is suspected that both are impacted by a Difference of Sexual Development (DSD), a category of medical conditions encompassing any problem noted at birth where the genitalia are atypical in relation to the chromosomes or gonads.
Some countries are known to seek out people with intersex conditions that were assigned female at birth because they often have androgynous characteristics like higher testosterone levels than your average woman has.
...Though I only just noticed that Khelif and Lin had not even fought yet when casemoney posted his initial remarks. Not sure what fine victory he saw.

Boxing bouts have always had height and reach differentials. That's the stuff that often makes it interesting. How does the smaller boxer get inside. Tyson Fury was much bigger and heavier and had a longer reach than Usyk, but it was the Ukrainian's greater skill that won that battle. Ivan Drago was much much bigger thn Balboa but didn't win. But that's heavyweight where there's no upper limit to weight. This one looks a bit odd as it's a welterweight that was actually lowered for this tournament and that Algerian lass looks much bigger than 66kg to my eyes.

Where would the Manchester airport middleweight "victim" sit in this charade ,he broke a Women PCs nose with a style akin to "front crawl" and why was she sent out ,to such a dangerous situation ,with only a DEI qualification and her courage.

I'd say it's a bit like this. If you're a copper or a boxer you know there's a good chance you're gonna go toe to toe with someone much bigger and uglier than you are. Better make sure you've got the chops and the equipment to be able to defend yourself.

Khelif was actually second fap for gold at the start of this tournament behind some Turkish girl. Not sure about her chromosomes but I wouldn't want to be bumping into her and knocking her kebab over. As for Carini, she was a bit of a no-hoper way down the betting unsurprisingly.

It is a bit funny. Wants an olympic medal for boxing against people who are definitely women, under 66kg, can afford to travel to the qualifying sessions and dont punch too hard. An inspiration.

Likely problem is, in certain cultures, 'possibly intersex' at birth just gets called a girl, and then they grow up and go through male puberty like this dude in the olympics.

Of course. In a system that, out of Christian or muslim religious fanatism, demands binarity against all better scientific knowledge, babies are assigned female or male at birth even if biology doesn't deliver in the wished for markedly binary way. With modern science we can now of course determine whether e.g. the babies that have more or less typical vulvas indeed also carry two intact chromosomes instead of one intact chromosome and the damaged Y chromosome. Many countries will of course not do so at birth. I'm not even sure if the west does chromosome checks for every baby born here or if it's only done if the genitals or gonads look a bit dodgy.
With modern science we can also detect hormone levels and limit them for sporting competitions.
Without that, we'd be left with the eye check like some TERFs tend to do. Often in regards to female swimmers that tend to have a physiology that deviates from what they deem ideal for women.
As I've alluded to, some countries are known to specifically seek out androgynous looking people that were assigned female at birth and train them to gain sporting success. Possibly intersex people. Even if they were not specifically groomed by their countries, it can simply happen that they excel and run faster and jump higher due to their intersex condition. Without specific knowledge on the circumstances, I think it is incredibly harsh to refer to these individuals as dudes.
Caster Semenya was assigned female at birth, but it is now known that she is genetically male with X and Y chromosomes. Presumably she was raised as a girl and she also considers herself a woman. She herself didn't go to like "Ima transition to cheat all the women and get all the riches and fame". She actually chooses to continue in the sex that was assigned to her at birth by others and the gender she was raised in.
I think with the scientific possibilities we have, we will eventually move towards categorising sports into XX and XY chromosomes and I think that's the correct decision at high level sports. At NCAA and all that crap, be more lenient.
Outside of their sporting competition, should we really villify people for both transitioning and for not transitioning after they were assigned female?
What bathroom and locker room should people like Semenya use?

I agree born shouldn’t be able to compete, price of transgender.
But this girl.born a woman, but had a lot of testosterone.
So tricky.
What next,Australian swimmers taller then 6ft 4,are too long and have an advantage, thorpedo.
Black men can enter 100 metres, cos bigger muscles.where does it end.
Small thin Ethiopians can’t run in marathon cos born at high altitude.

Weight categories in athletics, under 10stone shot putt for example.?
Paralympics been going far shorter time but they recognise differing disabilities to create fairer competition.
It seems ridiculous that a man not quite good enough can take a card and turn out against females where he's now dominant.
Genuine cases far more difficult to decide. As above, eg Semenya,... I think she's been treated dreadfully by IAAF

People who transgender, good luck to them, hope their lives improve, but can’t be expected to compete in elite sport after,it’s just a side affect of their decision.
High testosterone,weird dna,etc. is tricky.
Would Fatima whitbread of been allowed, clearly women with more testosterone might have an advantage, but where do you draw the line.
It’s such fine margins, any minor advantage helps.
Impossible to gage.

Nevermind. Can't find any GDR javelin throwers with a similarly impressive physique despite GDR sports generally being known to be abusive in terms of juicing up its athletes (often from a young age without them knowing). Albeit with not all that many being caught it will never quite be known what specific athletes knew and if indeed they were even juiced.

Female on birth certifucate, the Italian boxer has done stuff like this befure quit because shew's useless crying after 46 seconds, absolutely laughable and all the usual rags saying trans,no proof of that anywhere..And in Algeria the chance of being trans and getting found out would be probably death,so i highly suspect the person in question is female with with xy chromosme that happens to 1/15000 women..and if you are one of those people it's highky likely you will be stronger, bigger and have an advantage over most women..That's the way she was born,i've known and seen women give blokes broken noses and a hammering within 30 seconds without breaking into a sweat..nothing to do with trans like all the trash papwrs over here like to use constantly, the same was said about numerous female sports people Sharron Davis was one for starters..

there's no testosterone level test in olympic boxing like there is in athletics - so someone like caster semanya (i.e. a "woman" with testes) can compete in women's boxing without having to take meds to reduce testosterone

In to the medals. Who is interested in this crap now?
I’m not that interested in woman’s boxing but the enjoyable thing about the olympics was watching people win medals and develop in the pros. No way she’s going to get sanctioned by a proper organisation.
People comparing this to Usyk v Fury clearly don’t have a clue about boxing.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, whose gender identity was questioned as she won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, is once again facing scrutiny after a leaked medical report alleged that the 25-year-old has internal testicles and an XY chromosome makeup which means she is not eligible to take part in female competitions.
Khelif was first embroiled in a controversy after she defeated Italy’s Angela Carini in just 46 seconds during the round of 16 welterweight bout in the Paris Olympics 2024. Khelif’s blistering win led to allegations that she was a man competing in female competitions. The basis of those allegations was her suspension by the International Boxing Association (IBA) in 2023 after she allegedly failed a chromosome test.

Despite this Khelif was allowed to participate in the Paris Olympics 2024 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as she went on to win the gold by beating Yang Liu in the 66kg final.
