It was suggested by lapsy pa that it could be connected to a number of removed posts on casemoney's olympics thread. As usual, unless someone actually themselves reports the circumstances of their ban, and does so truthfully, it is all speculation.

Neither has casemoney's significant other shared the details on here, nor has casemoney themselves shared it yet with the broader public after he was invited to do so in the old go-to place for banned forumites

There was a log-in issue initially. I was out for at least 2 days until contacting customer service. Almost immediately on notification I was back in again.

Houses are for living-in not as a richman's toys or status symbol. Look at the implication of this in the Lake District or Sandbanks in Dorset. Outsiders usually townies buying up and using them as holiday homes denying the locals of scarce affordable accommodation. And, to add insult to injury some mortgages are tax-deductible.

No doubt any new homes built quite a few will somehow get into the hands of already multiple home owners with their ready wealth and superior credit record/history. This ought to be outlawed eg priority must go to the locals 1st - to prevent the area turning into a  ghost town - or short term lets to cash in on lucrative holiday lets only; definitely no Airbnb.

Maybe it was the old thing of being able to post until you log out

Click on their username and if it takes you to the forum home page that means they have been banned.

That's what I wondered too. Maybe not until you log out, but for bans maybe sometimes taking a bit of time to take effect if you are quick to read your email.

If it took a log out, you'd be able to post for .... additional months or even years if you do it right.

I also notice the search engine on this forum no longer works

Tim Loveseed has added timbucktoo as his location, which is likely meant to refer to the forum user timbucktooth on here. I also feel like I remember once having fun with timbucktooth on here for him very unchristianingly voicing interest in....rather dodgy IPTV things on here. So that would align with the thread he hijacked too.

On the other hand, that Tim Loveseed writes like that (presumably) EDL dude from the viral video will write from now on. The one who first received some heavy friendly fire to his head, before more friendly fire likely ended any ambitions of future genetical children. Which points more towards Timber. The latter would also be more likely to concern himself with me to the point that they make Grant tell me they are the big bad ban master. That's good, I've seen it but I always recommend reading the book. I've read it a couple of times as I also did "Brave New World". Huxley's "Brave New World revisited" is also worth a read. I don't think we are just heading for Orwell's dystopia, I think we are heading for a combination of both of them at the same time.

It will ultimately be like is sometimes seen in the Mobile Suit Gundam universe, but without the giant somewhat human shaped robots. Those are not very practical.

Humans will split between naturals and the enhanced ones, with the enhanced humans being demonised and hate crimed against.

When I read it, I thought that dystopian novel is not the correct way to describe Brave New World. There are a lot of things to like.

Genetic engineering of humans and using artificial wombs would obviously be a huge advancement of humanity and something we should eagerly look towards. Although it should be primed towards improvement of the human material. The castes and classes are lame, as are the drugs to keep people happy. Don't see why we would need to those castes. By the time humanity has developed well functioning genetic engineering of humans, to be bred outside of a human, we should have robots that can do all the lamest, hard manual labour tasks.

We don't have a hive mentality, it would take some clever engineering to create one in our brains. It would also take a lot of energy to run all those robots. I'm not sure that I would welcome the euthanasia part, they would have bumped me off long ago.  BNW would definitely be far better and more tranquil than the 1984 approach of coercion, brainwashing and punishment. There would also be a long queue for Taylor Swift.

It also takes a lot of energy to run a human body too. The average human is meant to need a supply of 2000 kcal/day, so a bit more than 8000 kJ/day, which works out to about 333 kJ/h and about 100 J/s = 100 W. That's just the direct energy we need to supply to our bodies through food. Food which is often produced inefficiently, especially if we are looking at large livestock. But we also need clothes, we shower on the first day of the month, we watch TV, the food needs to get to us and all the many other ways a human uses ressources.

A lot of it is also spent idling or even using power because we write incredibly weird posts on betting forums about the amount of power a human uses. Then you also need to add multiple years of a human child really just using up ressources. Won't need the same amount of kJ through feed as an adult, but those diapers don't fall from trees. And then, hopefully, many more years of pension with reduced productivity.

For tasks that can be done with robots there really should be no competition on the energy balance. Robots should win that hands down and if we can have those robots and can apply measures of population control and optimisation of the human material through genetic engineering, then we shouldn't seek to keep humans around for the lame tasks that can be done with robots.

Because we would run part of our society so much more efficiently with the help of robots, we can also stave off the euthanasia for old people. We won't need to get rid of them to be frugal with our planet's ressources. Old people are a staple of society and while they talk a lot of old fashioned rubbish, I am 100% for everyone having a well deserved and long pension. One day we might even be able to detach the minds from our mortal bodies. How glorious would that be, please?

As for the hive mentality: I don't think you'd need one. We'd engineer people to be non-violent by nature unless threatened, but we'd not engineer them to all think alike or stupid stuff like that. Give people basic intelligence, but let them develop their interests and fascinations themselves. Apart from social sciences. We would disable any genes that make people take an interest in social sciences. That's a given and a necessity for any prosperous and good future.
