Apollo 15 launched astronauts Dave Scott, Jim Irwin, and Al Worden to the Moon #OTD in 1971. It was the first of the Apollo "J" missions which allowed a longer stay (nearly 3 days) and more mobility (lunar rover time!) on the lunar surface.

#OTD in 1971, the Lunar Rover Vehicle (LRV) made its lunar debut during the #Apollo 15 mission!

During this mission, the LRV would travel just over 17 miles, logging three hours and two minutes of driving time. Look back at the mission....
