50 Years Since I First Voted in a GE

Fair few red,green,yellow posters and signs. I've not seen one blue though and I've travelled through some relatively upmarket areas in the last few weeks.

Absolutely zero around where I live.

There's certainly not as many as 50 years ago.

I first voted a few years before you did ss. I've voted for only one party then & ever since. As has been the case for a number of years, I have offered to deliver leaflets & have a poster displayed at my property (that's my contribution to politics) - they never came back to me

The odd conservative poster around the village. None for the others.

Maybe there is a lot of silent reform voters about to come out.

The interesting thing Mr Spray, is that in the not to distant future, when the Islamic Republic of Britain is under Sharia Law, you won't be able to vote for a Muslim women, only Muslim men!

Mr Spray- I partly agree with you. 1) It won't happen in my lifetime. But that's because I'm very old with compromised health. 2) My London home is in an area which has in the last 4 years seen an influx of Muslims & in the last 3 months my road has had the same. This suggests it WILL happen well within the next 100 years. 3) It really doesn't bother me as I was a man about town who successfully avoided marriage & having any children so frankly, it's not my problem. Btw, it's Dr Slicer. I didn't spend so many years at university to be called just plain Mr. But no hard feelings!

I haven't got a Ph.D but I got a decent degree in history and politics when not many went to University.
You tend to assume that all Muslims want Sharia Law. In fact most of those who get here are fleeing from countries where Sharia Law exists to a greater or lesser extent. Others who are essentially economic migrants are mainly potential entrepreneurs.
Obviously there are some exceptions and I have no more time for THEM than you do. But actually the religious right ( Christian ) is at least as big a threat to the world. Luckily they have yet to get one of their puppets into the White House. Trump goes along with them up to a point but it's fairly obvious he is an atheist or a worshipper of the Great God Don. But I reckon THAT will happen in the next 100 years (nap).

I agree with Dr Slicer, if you live in a big city you will know that it's coming in a generation or two. You only have to pass a school when the kids are in the street. There is no point in being concerned about it, it's far too late.

Mr Spray- my views are well known on here. Many of those fleeing their not so war torn countries, like France, ARE economic migrants. It is not Sharia Law they're fleeing from because they want it in the UK. The criminals landing on the South Coast are all of one religion. Churches are being closed & the fastest growing religion in the UK is Islam with mosques being built. The fastest growing population in the UK is Muslim. The most popular name for newborns in the UK was Mohammed. Surely all of this tell you something. Have you noticed how the 19 or so Labour Muslim MP's have kept their mouths shut during the election build up so as not to potentially "upset" anyone. Well, from tomorrow, when the Labour landslide has occurred, they'll be shooting their mouths off. Did you see the Workers Party political broadcast. George The Cat Galloway started it with Gaza & that subject took up over half of the broadcast with very little of "home" policy to follow. He knows who to appeal to to get elected. Just another example. Anyway, enough of this. "There are none so blind as those who cannot see!" The battle was lost some time ago so really & truly it's up to others to sort it out, which they won't.
