Ha ha. Don't really think smelly French students rioting (it's called democracy, live with it) and the UK media with their 'how could this being happening' confused faces look, barely holding back their anger, will have any effect on Thursday. Guardian readers must be in meltdown territory what with Biden's performance last week, and now this.

I'm not sure that is amongst Le Pens aims, anyone paying taxes and generally living a normal life respecting France maybe more like it?

Easy to criticise French people faced with a choice of co-operating with Hitler and fighting him. Same now in Russia and China. Do you oppose Putin or the Chinese regime and face ruin and probable death or pretend to be a supporter? We are all human and most will opt for survival.
