However, he said people should still vote for the candidates if they wished to register support for Reform. Vote for our racists says Reform!

Asked what Reform would say to voters in the constituencies where the candidates had been dropped, the party spokesman said he would “encourage them to vote for the party, by voting for these people on the ballot paper".

It's too late to change the names on the ballot paper. As such, only vote for the Party as long as Reform has officially deselected them prior. The Labour Party disowned a Muslim candidate for saying disparaging comments about Gaza/Israel war Up North just recently in a by-election; the candidate was not elected despite fav earlier.

Oliver Dowden has described alleged Russian interference in the general election campaign as “gravely concerning” amid calls for an investigation.

The deputy prime minister was responding to claims by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) that it had uncovered a suspected Russian influence operation, encouraging support of Nigel Farage’s Reform party, after monitoring five co-ordinated Facebook pages.

With a combined 190,000 followers, the five pages have repeatedly shared the same images, text posts and talking points and often post around the same time.

Dowden said: “These revelations reveal the real risk our democracy faces in this uncertain world. Malign foreign actors, promoting British political parties, policies and views that fit their agenda is just another example of the challenges in the increasingly volatile cyberspace of the 21st century and is gravely concerning to see during an election campaign.”

Last night, the Conservative Party chairman, Richard Holden, wrote to Simon Case, the cabinet secretary, and Sir Tim Barrow, the national security adviser, asking for the claims to be investigated.

In other developments, Reform UK confirmed it had withdrawn its support for three candidates: Edward Oakenfull, standing in Derbyshire Dales; Robert Lomas, a candidate in Barnsley North; and Leslie Lilley, who is standing in Southend East and Rochford.

Lomas reportedly said asylum seekers had it “in their DNA to lie” and that “black people of Britain” were “grifting the race card”. Oakenfull tweeted derogatory comments about the IQ of ethnic minorities last year, and Lilley described people arriving on small boats as “scum”.

Reform is also facing calls to suspend a fourth Reform candidate after The Sunday Times discovered racist and sexist content on their X account, including use of the racial slur p***.

Sky News has also identified two further Reform candidates after they shared “vile” material in breach of the internationally recognised definition of antisemitism.

Farage announced he was boycotting the BBC after accusing the broadcaster of bias following his appearance on Question Time on Friday night during which he was repeatedly criticised by people in the audience.

Theresa May said that Farage’s stance on Ukraine is “absolutely wrong” as she vowed to have “nothing to do” with a party led by him.

ABC’s analysis of the five pages found that while they claim to be based in the UK, most of the administrators for each page are based in Nigeria, with a small number being listed as based in the UK.

The Nigerian connection is significant because previous online Russian propaganda networks were found to have been operating from Africa.

Andrew Chatwick, a disinformation expert and political communications professor at Loughborough University, said the content being pushed by the network identified by the ABC were about “sowing division and chaos”.

Farage sparked a furious backlash last week after he claimed that the expansion of Nato and the European Union “provoked Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.”

Describing his comments as “very concerning”, May said: “He is absolutely wrong about his statements that imply that somehow it was the West that led to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It was not.”

Farage came under increasing fire over the issue, with Rishi Sunak accusing him on Friday of being a Putin “appeaser”.

May, who was speaking at a book festival to publicise her book The Abuse of Power, said she was “astounded” to see the Reform candidate in Salisbury praising Putin and rejecting comparisons with Adolf Hitler.

Julian Malins KC told a hustings event last Sunday: “I have actually met Putin and had a ten-minute chat with him and he seemed very good. He is not the Austrian gentleman with the moustache come alive again.”

Condemning his remarks, the former Conservative MP for Maidenhead said: “What message is that to the people … of Salisbury? It was horrific what happened [there], that casual use of novichok in order to try to murder Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.”

Rejecting Farage’s repeated claims that he could one day lead the Conservative Party, May, who stood down as an MP at the election, said that a party led by the Reform leader would “not be the Conservative Party.” “He [Farage] is not a Conservative,” she added. “And he has set out very clearly that his aim is to destroy the Conservative Party … I would want nothing to do with him.”

He [Farage] is not a Conservative

Correct. The distinction between a common right wingers (and alt cringers) and conservatives is not made enough. Conservatives are the beacon of every society. Hard working, smart, fair. They respect authority and the law of the land. Personal responsibility, accountability and civility are king. Knowledge and science guides them. Where the common right winger and alt cringer commonly goes "My feelings don't care about your facts", a conservative goes "My facts don't care about your feelings".
