Starbucks

I went there twice, both times the espresso was awful. Looking around many customers were drinking large glasses of milk and cream so I don't suppose they cared.
Of the large chains I find Cafe Nero to be the best, Costa second and Macdonalds not much better than Starbucks but cheaper. I don't bother with what passes for food.

Greggs beats all of them.

totally agree, amazing how people are conned by the coffee culture, mcdonalds in dublin was good value at one point as the Irish indo paper was free, so you were getting it for nothing at that time.

Starbucks is out on its own imho. Costa is not the worst. Starbucks though is total trash. Its coffee is awful by any standard.

Its imho as Foinavon has said. Its designed for people who actually dont like coffee but want flavoured sugared milk

It's somewhere for shoppers to go and chat especially if they don't want to use a pub and find it trendy. Not somewhere to get a decent coffee though.

Marketing is more important than the product.

Coffee is awful. Even MacDonalds have better coffee. Nero is decent but they do pay their fair share of tax so they are blacklisted with Starbucks.

McDonald's have surprisingly good coffee.

7am , Grande dark roast , almond chocolate pain au chocolat ....not sure what it cost but been up since 5.30sm and it was delish .

got a little Filter occasionally have an expresso , cant cost 30 P to make TBH

They'll be paying less than 6p per shot, the rest must be costs of running the business. My opinion is
that there should be a marked price difference if taking out. Agree with a few on here, the only chain
espresso worth having is Nero.
