I'd rather go blind than watch that manufactured c rap. People comparing her to the beatles need sectioning. Popularity maybe, music wise she is leagues below.

I personally like many of the Beatles songs but don’t believe they received balanced criticism.

There are some very naff lyrics….

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da
Life goes on, brah
La, la, how the life goes on

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I am the eggman (Ooh)
They are the eggmen, (Ooh)

Seems unlikely that Paul or John ever bother to open a thesaurus .

Decent tunes at the correct time in social history with baby boomers. Millions would have danced to their music. The lyrics are not exactly thought provoking.

As I mentioned. I like many Beatles songs, just think their status has mor to do with social history than their lyrics.

I'm neither a fan of the Beatles nor Taylor Swift
but good luck to them, and where would we be without
the Beatles music wise... Swift will likely influence
a shed load of good stuff, I hope I'm around long enough.

Ob la di ob la da

and yeah, yeah, yeah .. very creative

McCartney told ABCNEWS' Diane Sawyer. "He was a black friend a mine called Jimmy Scott. And I used to just say, 'What's happening, Jimmy? '" McCartney says Scott, who had a strong Jamaican accent, would answer, "Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, bra."

Saddened to hear the Beatles were nasty plagiarisers instead of creative geniuses.
Report lfc1971 June 9, 2024 12:58 AM BST
The Beatles were nothing if not original
the blueprint of a rock group and everything that was to come

Of course as swifties know Taylor Swift writes classics like Romeo and Juliet also
Report Mexico June 9, 2024 8:03 AM BST
LFC

Dire Straits recorded a song titled Romeo and Juliet - decent song with a comical video where everything is literal.

TS has used the names “Romeo” and “Juliet “ In lyrics.
She must be kicking herself that she hasn’t used “ yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah” . There is still time , perhaps she & Paul can get together

La la la la la la la la
Keeping us warm in the night
La la la la la la la la la la la
Walk in the light
You'll get it right
La la la la la la la la
Keeping us warm in the night
La la la la la la la la la la la

Beatles were around for a decade & were part of a British soundtrack to an interesting decade. The baby boomers were leaving school and changing society. Travel was becoming affordable, education opened up, young workers had disposable income, home ownership increased, Women had access to the pill, there was Peace (of sorts).

I'm out of touch.
I thought she was a 17 year old country singer with an irritating voice but apparently she is a 34 year old pop singer with an irritating voice.
Well I never.

Yes - early Swift was more US folky  and quite pleasant. I understand she is very generous with giving to charity.

Only watch a bit of pop music on Youtube these days and mostly 60/70s stuff but what I have seen of Taylor Swift I like. Some great live gigs with Mick Jagger and Robbie Williams among others.
