He is usually right in his legal predictions because unlike partisans like Tribe he predicts what he thinks will happen based on the law and his experience rather than what he would like to happen. And he is unbiased in his legal opinions, he's not the sort to just tell you what you want to hear.

He said Trump was very likely to be convicted in the hush money case. I didn't like the sound of it much when he said it, but I knew it was realistic considering the venue.

Now in theory Democrats could pass a bill to prevent people with convictions from taking office. However I believe they would need two-thirds of both the House and the Senate, and ratification by three-fourths of the state legislature to get it through, which would be a very high bar.

I have seen multiple interviews with Dershowitz over the last year where he was adamant that if convicted it would be overturned on appeal.

he paid the porn star to keep quiet, he accounted for the payment as legal fees. It wasn't difficult for the jury to understand and it won't be difficult for the appeal court judges to understand, if they even decide to hear it.

They won't need any help from a kangaroo court because there are legitimate cases which can be brought. There's plenty of legitimate evidence which has already been collected in Biden's document case and Hilary's document case.

A campaign expense is an expense that arises out of the campaign. Hush money payments do not arise out of the campaign. The FEC expert Trump's team wanted to call was not allowed to give evidence on that point, and the jury were wrongly told that it had been proven to be a campaign expense.

Dershowitz is no clown. Only a clown would call him a clown. He is a Harvard law professor with 60 years legal experience, and his legal predictions are usually correct. Did you watch the video I posted? He said it's worse for America than Trump. I should imagine the primary target would be Biden, although they might have to wait until he leaves office because his immunity from prosecution is more likely to be honoured than Trumps immunity. The immunity issue is still being decided by the supreme court. There should be a decision soon which could affect all of the lawfare cases.

I think it would be overkill to prosecute her and claim that it was done in furtherance of another crime to make it into a felony as was done with Trump. I am not in favour of politicians using lawfare to win elections because it's very bad for the country. Elections should be decided by voters, not by lawfare, but it's inevitable that's how elections will be decided in future unfortunately.
