I certainly don't expect to get the answer on here, but I suspect the answer is the vast majority in the hands of the super rich in places like the gated communities of Cobham and Oxshott, or in the hands of wealthy and corrupt foreign businessmen in places like Turkey, China and Malaysia.
And what is it going to mean for the future of this country? The single biggest event in modern history of increasing inequality between rich and poor.

The media, government and public have fooked everyone for generations. No one with the balls, foresight or brains was given a platform to spell out the damage it would do.

Bloody food banks everywhere, house prices astronomical, rent exorbitant, national and local government potless, tax at record recent highs, can't get an NHS dentist unless you already have one, inequality at record levels. And only logical conclusion is all will get worse, regardless of who is in power.

Plenty of people were calling it out. I was calling it out before lockdown was called! When all the 'smart' people were demanding we copied the ccp.
Too many vested interests. Too many people sniffed the opportunity of getting a super extended holiday. Plus of course, the idiots who thought it was a lethal infection.
If you count all the useful idiots, the people enriching themselves, those who wanted to cause political and economic damage, those who got a net benefit out of lockdown, doesn't leave a lot out, does it.

I was always against lockdown, except at the very start (earlier than we actually did) to give us time to prepare and get the knowledge how bad the disease was going to be. Because the bottom line always was that more people will end up dieing long term. But the media prevented that narrative and individuals lacked the courage to fly against the narrative.

One of my arguments was obvious, if you do it, you're never get out of it. As the politicians will be blamed for any subsequent deaths, esp with the incessant need to obtain political capital against Tories.
You need to definite otherwise the phrase is meaningless. You said you've won a million plus gambling, right. That's considerably unequal. Many people graft physically hard to earn a fraction of that. Are you advocating giving up your capital to them?

Your regular reminder that not having a lockdown and furlough scheme would have seen thousands of businesses going bankrupt within weeks, millions on the dole and the economy crashing through the inner core.

Cider, I don't think I or anyone similar to me, have any of the £40bn. I only have the one house. I have been lucky enough to be in a position to give my eldest son £150k to get him on the property ladder and he's still in a worse position than I was in 1990 when I bought my first property imo. That's a fecked up economy.

That's why you need to define what you mean by inequality. You being able to give your son the cost of a new house, tax free, would be considered grossly unequal by many many people. There's no form of economy that allows for all people to get free houses.

Cider I didn't buy my son a house, I bought him half a £300k house. The 2 bed flat I bought for £60k (current equivalent £140k) is now worth £500k. So just on the numbers despite me buying half his house, he is still worse off than I was. I had the equivalent of a £140k debt on a property worth 67% more than the £150k debt he has on his house. And he's lucky

It seems extortionate, but without my help he'd never be able to buy what is a small property, until I kicked the bucket. (what a goal Bowen) Crazy as it seems, I think house prices in most areas are set to rise further. Forgot to mention, he also has about £40ks worth of student debt. Socialist clap trap, not imo. An economy that has gone backwards for 30 years, unless you are very wealthy. I'd say so.

Actually, I take that back a little bit. What I should have said is an economy that has gone backwards for 30 years unless you are very wealthy, the progeny of wealthy parents or late middle aged and elderly.

I didn't say you bought him a house I said you gifted him enough to buy a house. Using 'house' term loosely, it's enough to buy a place to live for a single person in most normal areas. Anyway that's a deflection. I'd say most parents can't drop their kids £150K, so that is iniquity that has benefited your family. Would you rather that wasn't possible?
As for property prices, this is a phenomenon reflected around the developed West due to mass migration and effective zero cost borrowing. ie globalisation. Young people might well find it harder to get on the property ladder for sure, overall they lead hugely pampered and luxury lifestyles compared to their predecessors.

The Government pump £400bn into the economy. That wealth when spent will always move towards the people and businesses that add value. That's how capitalism works.

Like Michell Mone and her children. £29 million of Tax Payer money into an Offshore Trust. Another £29 million to Dougie all from a contract worth £203 million and they were doing the NHS a favour.
But tge real villains are the taxi drivers who do not declare their cash takings.

pecker-i was amazed to hear how generous the payments were in direland. from a girl who spent lockdown on her family farm in mayo and got 300 euro a week for doing nothing. she saved it up and is now here again

A huge problem with PPE was government couldn't be seen to use backhanders needed to secure the contracts. That's where the likes of Michelle Mone stepped in. They had the corrupt contracts

It was spent on forcing young healthy people to get the vaccine so the fearties didn't have panick attacks at the thought of being in the supermarket with someone that was unvaccinated.
Do you think all these vaccines fell off the back of a lorry and we never paid for them?

Many employed enjoyed a holiday but, by the same token, my handyman said many self employed put their £60k loans straight into bitcoin cos they had no intention of repaying them.
Rishi's "eat out" initiative also has a legacy. Most caterers were loath to go back to historical profit margins after the VAT holiday and that fed high inflation into the service sector as they sought to normalise ramped profits.

A fair chunk went in playing millions of low paid employees a few thousand a year. Basically preventing them from being thrown out of housing & making sure had money for food.
Would have been a fair chunk of overtime for healthcare workers. Doctors/nurses were brought out of retirement without the normal tax on pension issues.
Even test & trace which didn’t do much good was wages for fairly low paid staff.
There was some fraud but most was money to millions of people, can claw that money over next 10 years with cuts to public services & reduce national debt.
