Could it be anything to do with one of them was a general election and the other was a by election?

If that was the case then I would expect to see a trend or similar data in any or all of the other 10+? by-elections over the last 4 years.
Have you considered the effect of the pandemic on folks using postal votes?
I've tried googling for 5 minutes to find the postal votes for the 2 by-elections held a fortnight before this one. But not found any data of parliament site or wikipedia.
i'd guess the returning officer publishes all his stuff on a local borough website, maybe not.
Got any suggestions as to where to find the number of postal votes on those?

Funny how bigoted turds always try to explain the defeat of the right at an election as being fraud and start going on about election fraud.Fact is British people do not like extreme right wing bigots. Too many of us have families with a history of fighting Hitler and fascism to stomach their racist idiocy.
This thread is about someone who has historically gladly worked for Russian and Iranian associated TV having won an election. Not exactly model democracies and school book anti-fascists.

Yes but he won easily and stuffed the odious Tories and appalling Reform which are definite positives. And they are trying to moan about electoral fraud,They got stuffed. Good.
If someone truly despises the Conservative Party I guess it is a positive even if it means victory for someone who....has chosen to perform as a broadcaster for autocratic and theocratic regimes that truly and utterly hate and work against the UK.

Gorgeous George has a number of skeletons in his closet.I would not choose him as my life partners or even my MP.But the Rochdale result was a win for humanity given the slaughter in Gaza. And as you say the defeat for Reform (humiliation) and the Hooray Henry greed merchants was excellent.
What Israel does is not decided in Rochdale or even the UK.
Dude's certainly not a humanitarian or peace bro either way, with the way he has gone out of his way to deflect from and play merchant of doubt regarding e.g. Assad's use of chemical weapons against the civilian population of Syria.

Hi, have you got a link to these figures for Rochdale please?

These were the figures given out by the reform candidate in an on the spot TV interview shortly after the results were read out.
Rochdale Borough Council have confirmed that 13,460 postal votes were cast in the Rochdale by-election, 43.2 percent of the votes cast and more than 12,335 received by winner George Galloway.
Is this not the correct figure?
where did you get these figures?
If they are correct then obviously the reform candidate was lying.

A good job that the Reform candidate was able to tell everyone the exact figures, rather than anyone who organised the count.
He didn't.
How do you know that?
George Galloway's first speech in the House of Commons.

Good points, well made.
Why is it that the only person given the benefits of the murdoch platform to gain enough currency to speak up like this has a long documented history of moral bankruptcy? Something smells.
