Labour and Tories proven they don't give a shoite for the proles.

and you've decided to cheer for the biggest sleazebag of all the candidates?
Was it George Galloway, pretending to be a cat and licking Rula Lenska on reality TV that got your heart, or maybe his support of Hammas & the taliban that made you love him?

apart from that, I was laying him early on before the labour candidate car crash/suicide so I'm quite red on him and the last thing I want is for him to have some good luck (he gets lots of good luck it seems)

I need some luck here, not some feckin pro religious grifter.

Always eager to take the money of all the countries that hate the UK the most in the whole wide world does not mean someone is a sleazebag imo.

Never let your dislike for a candidate to interfere with your wager.
The electorate has lost faith in this two party monopoly so let's have a change.
Or at the very least, kick them up the aris.
I'd very much like to see a PR voting system but that's not going to happen while this pair has control.

I wonder what percentage of the 12000 who voted for the Workers Party in Rochdale actually have legitimate jobs and pay their taxes.  Even 10% ???

They do appear to have consummate skills though where Postal Voting is concerned.
Report PorcupineorPineapple March 1, 2024 9:27 AM GMT
Not the main story, but against expected Reform UK performance their share in Rochdale is the largest percentage point underperformance since Hartlepool. They ended on less than the Brexit party in 2019, when we might've expected comfortable double digits.

Report ladycarla March 1, 2024 9:58 AM GMT
Same as reform, postal votes were already in by the time they started but don't let a good story get in the way of facts.
Report PorcupineorPineapple March 1, 2024 10:34 AM GMT
I don't think you can read too much into this from a Labour v Tory perspective. After the Ali debacle this was all about a protest vote. Galloway is the ultimate populist and managed to get the vote out easily, but for Reform to do so poorly when the Tory vote has collapsed is a bit of an eye-opener.
Report Whisperingdeath March 1, 2024 11:55 AM GMT
PP I think you might find a number of Labour MP’s will be getting nervous. Many Tories will also realise their tickets on the Gravy Train May be expiring soon.

Well done the people of Rochdale gif saying ENOUGH

Or are you just a big fan of the anti Israel, pro terrorist , people user, Galloway.?

Nail on the head dambuster.

The hysteria fomented around this win is ludicrous.
This clown got 15% of the constituency electorate voting for him.
Only 15%.
Constituency 100% =  81,860

85% of those who could have voted for him chose not to do so.
62% who had the right to vote didn;t do so.
Another minority group wins an election and the usual loudmouths make hay.
85% rejected George Galloway and his vile bile.

are the retired and the unemployed allowed to join the Workers party?

Of course. Have the retired not orked-is to be assumed the unemployed have never worked or will never work again?
Are we to assume that a status quo is never to be broken and should we therefore assume that two parties who have nothing but a **** papper between them should maintain this staus quo for ever?

Bit of a cheap shot to carte blanche accuse people from socially deprived areas where investment has been scarce and jobs are are scarcer of idleness.
The inference here being that muslims are a drain on taxes.
