When fox and the other chap got sacked they were claiming the channel had renounced free speech and were sliding towards authoritarianism.

GB news reaction is to sign the man who locked everyone in their houses, introduced a police bill to stop protesters being too loud and was prepared to employ water cannons against those who irritated him.

Maybe fox had a point.

Not clear that you understand the situation too well. The channel has to play these games to survive, there are plenty of people who want to get rid of any broadcasting that they don't agree with, and that includes ofcom. BJ brings attention, attention brings clicks. They need clicks to commercially survive since the woke London advertising community have blackballed the channel.

Liberalists don't recognise irony do they, else they would see how stupid they appear, continually claiming nobody watches GBN content, whilst at the same time as incessantly pontificating about everything it does.

Does anyone on here actually watch this channel? Their viewing figures are close to zero at many times of the week.

GB News staff revolt over updated expenses policy amid widespread cut backs



The channel’s proposal to cease taxi reimbursement has not gone down well.

Employees tell me that some are spending thousands on taxis every year in order to safely travel into work at unsociable hours. Workers have been offered a tax-deductible £1k salary increase as mitigation, with one saying it “doesn’t come close to making up the difference”. Duty of care appears to be absent in this decision.

Staffers are branding this move a “pay cut in disguise” and say as a result “people looking for other work has absolutely skyrocketed”

Insiders tell me “protest action” is planned to ‘disrupt output’ and make GBN reconsider their decision. Meanwhile, some fear their increased commute and earlier wake up times will result in more on-air gaffs for the already mistake prone broadcaster, potentially placing them at risk of disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, GB News intend to reform their contract with contributors and guests by eliminating reimbursement of travel expenses and instead pay guests a flat-rate “disturbance fee”. I don’t see this going down well with Lee Anderson’s mate Gary the cabbie.

Limelite HR, the outsourced human resource firm tasked with streamlining GBN’s operations, say that the consultation process is still going with the previously announced voluntary redundancy process only “limiting the numbers that will be affected by compulsory redundancy”. This suggests the channel intends to go much further, with the business model likely to radically change.
