LONDON, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Britain remains on course to have the highest inflation of leading rich economies in 2023, according to Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development forecasts which showed the country's inflation problem widening compared with most of its peers.

Britain's headline inflation rate was set to average 7.2% over 2023, up from a previous forecast of 6.9% made by the OECD in June.

The fresh estimate represented the biggest upwards revision for any Group of Seven economy - apart from Japan - in the latest set of projections by the Paris-based think tank published on Tuesday.

Is average inflation an actual meaningful thing?

The UK inflation will be highest in G7 because ,we paid our pensioners 10.1% ,benefits 10.1% and of course many many very high wage rises.
The other drivers of inflation (mainly Ukraine war) oil/petrol ,gas , food oils/fats ,grains and fertilisers etc , effect all countries but in different ways .
So a country like the UK ,that imports energy ,that farms intensively and eats much processed food and takeaways will face higher price rises .
The high mortage rates are reducing new build housing combined with the greens and liberals opposing planning permissions ,rents will increase ,also many local authorities are going into the rental markets, so council taxes will leap .
Only progressives can believe we can support our ridiculously spirralling population without new homes destroying the environment.
It needs something to break the cycle ,not a split passive Government or lawyers and scamming whining wokery.

Keep saying woke wokery, and that'll fix it.

Maybe invent a few surveys and give us an anecdote
about a bloke you met in the wokery ward on woke street.

Inflation is still imported and inflated by interest rates.

Interest rate rises drop out a year after they happen.

No bank rise tomorrow and we are set for Oct 24 election
Another 0.25 and nov24 to Jan 25 goes fav.
