btw.: Stating that no one can win is always bold in a war. And was it always a war the no-one can win? I would suggest there is a possibility that, without international assistance, many more millions of Ukraine would now, once more in their history, be under the oppression of Russia. Along with many more Ukrainians seeking refuge in our countries. I really think that the front line (if it even existed at all anymore instead of Ukraine having had capitulated) would look vastly different without the assistance. Do you disagree with that and would like to argue that the assistance has made no difference?

If you send in soldiers from the German armed forces (or other NATO member countries), you kind of officially enter the conflict as the country. Germany has no interest in being bombed.

The Spring/Summer offensive has got nowhere. Increasing amounts of weapons and money have gone Zelensky's  way but very little to show for it. Reduced to long range missiles to damage any Russian targets they can which is fair enough but isn't getting their occupied territories back. Another winter stand off is imminent and then the same again next year. Ukrainians dying by the thousands (rarely reported in the western press) and their country being torn apart. Utter stupidity perpetrated by vested interests and supported by cowards and psychopaths.

If someone is "bang in trouble" I'd really expect their opponent to really get to them, for the opponent to really make gains and get the upper hand, instead of their opponent just not losing as much as one demands.

I always find it curious that the proponents of Ukraine just being left to its own devices and being left to be conquered by Russia also tend to be the most virulent when it comes to taking refugees or generally migrants in large numbers.

Is the expectation really that there wouldn't be many more millions of Ukraininians on the flight if Russia was to either march further west or Ukraine even becoming a Russian subject of oppression yet again?

But in any case if they did continue with aggression after such a ceasefire then we are only back where we are now so there is no downside to a ceasefire by Ukraine. In fact if Ukraine did call a ceasefire and Russia didn't comply then Ukraine have a much stronger hand in getting the west to be more involved. It's an obvious thing to do unless you have a vested interest in war or your an idiot.
