How to stop the boats – roll out the red carpet, and make it easier for illegals to get here.

Three quarters of Labour voters are fed up with sharing their handouts and services with anybody who comes here for a better life.
Not to mention seeing them being treated much better.
So why vote for more immigrants under Labour than they’d get under the Tories?

But why vote for any of the disgusting political parties that supports mass immigration?

We voted to take back control. To control our borders. To control who can come and stay and who can't. Maybe we'd move to an Aussie type points system, maybe we'd come up with something new.

Point is, whatever that system is is decided by the UK government of the day. That's who is in control. So if Starmer says he wants to choose option C and the public back him and elect him to power then we go with option C.

That's sovereignty.
Report lfc1971 September 15, 2023 4:47 PM BST

Report PorcupineorPineapple September 15, 2023 4:58 PM BST
Well, call it what you like.

Brexit is done. It's over. It's gone.

Now it's all about the UK deciding on its own immigration system and coming to its own new agreements with other blocs and countries.

If your precious Brexit voters want more change they can have their say at the ballot box. Let's see the pitiful dozens queue up to put their box in the RefUK box and chortle.

Fix our immigration system The vote to leave the EU was, among other things, a vote to take back control of our borders. That is why a majority Conservative Government will get Brexit done, and then introduce a firmer and fairer Australian-style points-based immigration system, so that we can decide who comes to this country on the basis of the skills they have and the contribution they can make – not where they come from. Migrants will contribute to the NHS – and pay in before they can receive benefits. Our new system gives us real control over who is coming in and out. It allows us to attract the best and brightest from all over the world. Only by establishing immigration controls and ending freedom of movement will we be able to attract the high-skilled workers we need to contribute to our economy, our communities and our public services. There will be fewer lower-skilled migrants and overall numbers will come down. And we will ensure that the British people are always in control.
Report Cider September 15, 2023 5:10 PM BST

I maintain that any election should be immediately preceded by the incumbent govt being scrutinised on their manifesto and how they did against it. First tv debate should be dedicated to that, and any mention of "well Labour will do..." should see their mike muted for 2 minutes.

If we vote on the basis of the policies contained within a manifesto then we should know how well the government kept their promises last time.

We have already had the concede the "level playing field" rules to get the deal we have, I think that was a step too far and any further would be foolish. How these nurses and doctors of the NHS perform as brilliantly as they do

You're dreaming mate.

They do the job they're supposed to do. What dedication to duty and brilliance is involved in prescribing medication, or in performing an operation that the surgeon has done many times before? And where death is commonplace.
That's what they're paid to do.
The same goes for nurses. They're there to look after people, and I've seen many examples where that falls well short of expectations.
Many nurses are only interested in their careers and getting out of routine nursing.
If there were penalties for failure I'd feel more comfortable about them.
And if the work was hard they wouldn't get people to do it at all.

Working in the fields is hard work, which is why they have to recruit people from abroad. No training required.
But in the NHS, recruiting from abroad is done to keep down the costs of labour.

One of Tories’ biggest ever donors profited from £135m of NHS contracts

Frank Hester, who gave Rishi Sunak’s party £5m this summer, is thought to have made
huge sums from DHSC deals

13 years, ah, we made huge profits for ourselves and our donors
all from taxpayer funding.

And certain people moan when we use “sleaze and corruption” as adjectives before the word “Tories”.

Now just in case anyone can doubt it.

The current Tory Party is riddled with sleaze and corruption.

The greed they demonstrate is beyond evil and cynical.

The disgusting and revoltingly wicked sleazy and corrupt Tories should be jailed. But getting them kicked out of power would certainly be a start.
