I'm pretty sure djokovic was going to sit out the Australian open originally but I'm guessing the open would have said in private you need to get there.

I don't see how he can be anymore of a health risk if he tested negative and you can still catch covid if you are vaccinated

AT the reports I was seeing a few months ago were of uncertainty whether he would be there.

I don't think for a second that Djokovic has got on a plane without speaking to the tournament organisers and border officials giving him and his legal team the all clear and assurances he would be fine to get the visa and play.

Of course once he was there he was going to fight it and try and stay there to win the tournament.
