I'm sure it does want sanctions lifted ...they were applied for a reason but 'stiff letter' western politics has rather revealed it's own weaknesses here...as I said large aggressions are highly unlikely but the fundamental flaw in such a taught relationship is very obvious..

as for pushing us in to the hands of US companies..why is that output not increasing if you're suggesting they could undercut Russia currently ?

Just postcode might do

Controversial. Everybody around here is pro-post code apart from the posties.

presumably price gouging wouldn't sit well with most future customers...unless of course it turns out they are inconveniently reliant on that store..

i'm not sure about the specifics but Russian gas may be cheaper and there is no problem with teh supply, it is increasing

also i think the US wants to sell Europe LNG which needs special facilities

US is never going to eb able to sell gas cheaper tahn Russia, not unless they build a pipeline under the atlantic

Who's doing the 'price gauging'? The gas is there but for the Anglos both side of the pond, Betty included, Russian resources and German ingenuity is the disaster they've been trying to avoid for centuries. So now you know where the 'price guaging' is coming from: a refusal to buy Russian gas by the British and European elite.

interesting angle

wt - this is a unique situation in supply, there's not reluctance to buy Russian gas, there's a reluctance to tie in to long term contracts at a time when relations are as fraught as they've been since the cold war..

It all comes back to Diplomacy.

How one goes from being the best in the world to the worst in the world...

Lots of losing coming our way if this continues.

relations were great at the time of Poots coming to office and in his early days there appeared to be every chance of a true east to west power alliance that would have been incredibly valuable economically and in terms of world stability but bit by bit that declined and whilst there's blame to go around maybe look at the stranglehold of personal power he's managed to create and ask where the greater blame lies...

yes because Yeltsin was a western stooge and Russia was broke, its militray poed no threat

he hasn't really created a new country to be proud of though has he...no true elections, drug cheats to a point of exclusion at the olympics, proved or otherwise high suspicion of murdering opponents and free journalism..would be much wealthier country by now than it is in all likelihood...

Sure! The fall of Soviet Russia was the most brilliant 'managed collapse' in History. At the fall, Yeltsin was installed by the West, or so the West believed. They wrote the Russian constitution, one that was of course dictatorial in nature so as they control Russia at a single point. The West went in with the whole neo-liberalisation policy we all know and love, and carved up the country and put it into private hands. They thought Yeltsin was their guy - and he was - but he was only the buffer zone, the time buyer, the man who had to take the fall while the Russian Patriots let the West have their victory and they moved their pieces into place. Now they are 10 times stronger then they ever were.

Yeltsin would never have been reelected without US help

the communist candidate was miles ahead in the polls

US helped his campaign, also announced a new credit line to russia during the campaign

Shift in politics in eastern europe was as much about the people wanting it, see Romania, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Ukraine etc

western dream may rightly be called something of an illusion but I doubt many in those countries or indeed Russia without controlled media and elections would be queuing up for the alternative..

It was a controlled collapse brentford. They knew their system had failed. The writing is on the wall for the 'Western' system now. Are they brave enough to say its failed, or are they going to take down as many people as possible with them?

America has chances, European countries have much better chances, but unfortunately, the UK has put themselves into such a corner the only enemy they can defeat is their own people.

Given Scottish's virtue signalling energy policy is so reliant on wind now it now, to keep the lights on, absolutely depends on England funneling power to it on days when the wind isn't suitable .. it really would be quite bizarrely stupid and pointing the shotgun at your own foot, for a Scottish nationalist to take a pot shot at Tory energy policy which while not perfect is not nearly so moronic and depedendent on outside forces.

But step forward once again our Kenny.

Even the most gullible climate change suckers must be thinking this nonsense has gone far enough.

We're the laughing stock of the world.

If ever we needed proof of how stupid some people are this is it.

What is disturbing is the way the genuinely far left scumbags are hijacking the perfectly reasonable idea of an envirionmentalist movement, as a vehicle for their own extremist ends. The Green parties in the UK are packed with Marxists. And next time there is a kids "climate change" rally, watch out for the huge amount of Socialist Worker banners handed out with things like "System Change not Climate Change" demanding a socialist "Revolution" on them. I presume other literature is given as well.
E.g. this. Sickening attempts to brainwash kids.

We have the benefit of a fusion reactor that emits enough power in forty minutes to fuel the planet for a year . Just need to collect and store it .

say you have a diesel generator

you need £1 of diesel to generate 80 pence of electricity

this is where fusion energy is at
