Met officer 'caused death' of moped rider during chase

Appalling headline from the BBC seeing as that is only an allegation made in court.

We need to careful here, the first time I was banned was for backing the police.

I simply wrote ''they should have used their hardware while they had it out''

I don't get this. I thought police were supposed to drive fast and weave in and out of traffic when chasing criminals ? It isn't as though he plowed into them and smashed them into a wall.

surely it's time to defund the police and spend the money on social workers instead

One came whooshing past me in a busy pedestrianised area yesterday. He was going so fast that had he collided with someone it would have resulted in serious injury. Illegal, yes but there is no-one to enforce the law.

It's common to see scooters and motorised cycles on the footpaths these days.

Like Foinavon pointed out, there's no-one to enforce the law.

The trouble is most of these riders don't even know that riding on the pavement is against the law.

The UK is like the Wild West. We're living in a semi-lawless society.

It's very dangerous going out at night, I can't remember seeing one with lights.

I was thinking of getting a long pole so I could tilt them away if they come too close.
