We're in the early stages of reshuffle, where rumours abound. The prime minister is apparently in the tearoom in the House of Commons.

Conservative Party co-chairman Amanda Milling and Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick have been spotted going into the PM's parliamentary office.

There's a lot of expectation that Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will be moved.

But it may be a while before we know much for sure.

Tick tock...

It has been a privilege to serve as Education Secretary since 2019. Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, I’m particularly proud of the transformational reforms I’ve led in Post 16 education: in further education colleges, our Skills agenda, apprenticeships and more.

Mr Jenrick faced major questions over his decision to approve a billionaire Tory donor’s £1bn housing development against the advice of a planning inspector.

The Housing Secretary gave Westferry Printworks, planned by Richard Desmond, the green light on January 14 - hours before a council levy kicked in that would have cost the developer around £40m.

It later emerged Mr Desmond showed the minister a video of the scheme on his phone at a Tory fundraising dinner in November 2019, and texted him asking him to approve it before the deadline.

In an e-mail dated January 9, 2020, a government official said Mr Jenrick was "insistent that decision issued this week ie tomorrow - as next week the viability of the scheme is impacted" by the levy.

Sackings so far: Williamson (whipped Johnson's 2019 leadership campaign), Buckland (early Remainer endorsement), Jenrick (crucial endorsement with Sunak/Dowden). Maybe next: Milling (worked on his 2016 leadership campaign). Not a reshuffle to reward loyalty...

There's still no news from Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab's team and no resolution to his talks with the PM.

On a day like this, the implication is that things are not entirely well, and he doesn't want to take whatever he's being offered instead of the Foreign Office.

No 10 has confirmed that Robert Buckland, Robert Jenrick and Gavin Williamson have now left government.

A spokesperson said Robert Buckland had made "a huge contribution to government as justice secretary and lord chancellor, including making our streets safer through significant reforms to sentencing and tackling re-offending.

"Robert Jenrick has led crucial work over the last two years, most importantly raising donations to part, driving reforms to build more houses so home ownership becomes a reality for many more people.

"Gavin Williamson has played a key role in transforming the skills agenda as we create a high wage and high skilled economy, providing a lifetime skills guarantee for millions across the country."
