Currently the minimum wage £8.91 so that would be a whacking 11.22% increase! Fantastic news for all low paid worker in the UK....

But hold on employers are already having to ramp up wages now that the endless supply of cheap EU labour has been turned off. Costa coffee are giving 5% this year so they'll be well over £10 an hour by the time of the next election.

When is the spineless one going to announce something UK workers can actually vote for or is that just beyond him?

Starmer will set out plans first announced by his deputy, Angela Rayner, earlier this summer, which expand on key pledges of the Jeremy Corbyn era – including a higher minimum wage and a ban on zero-hours contracts.

Starmer will highlight the millions of people facing a £1,040 a year cut to universal credit next month who he will say are also now facing a tax rise.

Frances O’Grady, general secretary of the TUC, said: “Banning zero-hours contracts and delivering decent sick pay for everyone would make a real difference to millions of workers.

“The pandemic exposed the terrible working conditions that many in our labour market face – including our dedicated key workers. Everyone who works in Britain deserves to be treated with dignity.

“Labour have set out concrete plans to make working people better off. It’s a big contrast to this government’s record over the last 11 years.”

Hopefully Johnson will steal the
idea and raise it to £10 before
he gets kicked out.

Good policy target, which covers folks the length and breadth of the country, particularly younger voters. Boris has thrown away a 26 point led in the polls in eighteen months. Some of the main reasons are his inability to chop a holidaymaking Foreign Secretary at a time of deep crisis, failing to chop a bullying Home Secretary who has been caught bullying at multiple government departments, failing to chop a Health Secretary who was getting it on with a staff member despite of guidelines and restrictions and failing to chop an unelected personal advisor who claimed he was having an eye test. All these and more failures, such as Jenrick and Williamson add up over time.

It's the lack of ambition that marks Keir Starmer out as useless.

He, as the Labour leader, is sat on a big fat gold plated index linked pension and he should want that for everyone. Instead he is floating a pay rise he knows that will already have happened.

That is the tragedy of the poor; their supposed leader is pathetic.

I have my doubts if Boris will make it to the next scheduled General Election in 2024 as PM. The Conservative Party are leaking votes all over the shop, in Scotland, Wales but particularly in the North and Midlands reading through polling data.
