NICOLA STURGEON has suffered a humiliating blow as her own adviser has warned of the economic impact of Scottish independence.

Professor Mark Blyth, part of the First Minister’s economic advisory council, poured cold water on Ms Sturgeon’s Scottish independence hopes. He suggested “pulling apart” more than three centuries of economic integration between Scotland and the rest of the UK would “hurt a lot”.

Speaking ahead of his appointment to the advisory council in July, Prof. Blyth admitted Scottish independence could be “Brexit times 10”.

In the interview with the Foreign Press Association, Prof Blyth added arguments Scotland needed to leave the UK because of Brexit do not hold water.

He told the outlet: “If your argument is that we need to do this because of Brexit, then Scotland separated from England is the biggest Brexit in history.

“The last time Scotland was fully economically independent, the word capitalism hadn’t been uttered.

“It [the Union] has been together for over 300 years.

“So, if pulling apart 30 years of economic integration with Europe is going to hurt, 300 years is going to hurt a lot.”

Prof Blyth also suggested an independent Scotland may need to keep the UK’s Trident nuclear deterrent on the Clyde to get into the EU.

Now of course, on this very forum we have enquired with the bigoted knuckle draggers of the SNP time after time vis-a-vis all the nation building and costs involved and every time they have seen such a thread they refuse to engage and run for the hills. Kenny the Cringe and Delicate flower the 2 most regular culprits. Now that's fine, if their position is so weak it will not withstand any debate and they wish to scarper rather then engage then so be it. But, people who know the truth are going to speak the truth - they can ignore the truth all they like but it will shine never the less. Then, the people of Scotland can choose to maintain the status quo or enter a period of financial armageddon where all their laws are made in Brussels.

And speaking of Brussels we are still to see the terms and conditions upon which Scotland would re enter the EUSSR. People been asked to switch Unions whilst having no idea whatsoever of the T&C's of the proposed new Union.

Kenny the Cringe, Delicate flower - where you at?Grin

I don't know why he seems to think maintaining Trident would be a condition of EUSSR entry, but how would people in Scotland who plan to vote for switching Unions feel about that?

Should the T&C's of joining the new Union be published so the people can see with eyes wide open?

Why are the knuckle draggers asking the good people of Scotland to vote blind?

1 simple question for Kenny the Cringe or any other England hater that fancies a stab at this.

The SNP advocate leaving the British Union in favour of joining the European Union. The terms and conditions of membership to the British Union are well known and have been for centuries. So, what are the terms and conditions of re entry into the European Union?

Sheesh, he just won't answer. Such a serious and fundamental question but all he wants to do is talk about crazy Donald.

We all want to know what is the position of you KD's vis-a-vis the T&C's of EU re entry.

You lot do have a position? Right?

And just for the record - i have never commented on the US election at any time on this forum. Never. So the assumption within your question is false. A lie. A fraud.

Now, how about you answer just 1 question.

Hey, if you can manage that maybe you can clarify why 1 of Krankees advisors seems to think maintaining Trident could be a condition of EU membership. If that cam to pass how would all you KD's feel about that?

But for now, try and have a stab at the first question. You know, the one you are your cult been ducking for almost a decade.Grin

Plenty of abuse but not one argument against the gist of the story.
There is no economic case for independence.
I know it, Sturgeon knows it and, in fact, everybody knows it.

And Mark Blyth is an excellent economist. He has been quite clear that independence for Scotland would have short term economic implications. It is a matter of whether you believe that remaining under the yoke of repression from evil corrupt Tory government and being a vassal state dominated by a big neighbour is an issue worth fighting for.

He did not say that Scotland could not be a perfectly viable independent country. But of course he would not say that because it’s clearly untrue.

Freedom does not necessarily come cheap. Unlike being repeatedly rude and insulting to others like some bullying low life imbeciles on this forum clearly demonstrate.

Yes indeed in the life of a a Nation it is is but a fleeting glimpse.
In the long run a decent country governing her own affairs, free of WMD, able to make her own decisions and not being subdued and dominated is a great prize to achieve. History will look back and wonder why Scotland agreed to being a vassal state for so long after she is free.

Says it all about you really. Not remotely funny, no real humour, just bitterness and hatred of Scotland running through each bile ridden post.

Why not try being kind to others for a change instead of going through your life hating and hating and hating?

You claim to be a pensioner soI expect it’s too late for you to change now, but you might be far happier if you tried kindness and common decency instead of bitter rudeness arrogance and bilge spouting?

Why not give it a go eh?

Scotland will always be a fantastic country. That is true whether or not she decides to become a free nation. You just predicting via project fear a disaster is just you allowing your pure hatred of Scotland to run through everything you think say or spew out on a betting forum.
