Yes case

I was determined not to enjoy The Olympics. I didn’t think it should have taken place with covid bad in a Japan. I have lost trust in athletics with all the drugs and the Russians and probably the Chinese.

Fact is live sport is the best reality tv there is full stop!

The replays are good but ashley watching it live particularly some of the minor sports with commentators who know their sports inside out and the competitors too is fabulous.

Too know how important it is to some of these athletes is also wonderful. Many will be forgotten, will not be household names, will not get rich and will if not already have to go back to their day jobs. I have almost lost interest in the millionaire footballers and club with stupid fans.

The only thing that concerns me now is that we are effectively financially doping some sports. Worse, the only thing that is important to those who dish out the funds and I believe these people not be be former athletes is winning. No medals no funding.

I would love to see the lottery start paying or contributing more to coaches and clubs, particularly those who have dozens if not hundreds of kids at the weekend keeping them off the streets, off drugs and away from learning crime.

But yeah

This has been great to watch. I remember watching the ladies Curling Final on BBC2 once!

I remember being in a Pub maybe 5 years ago. The ladies hockey final was on but MoTD came on and somebody switched channels. I think the whole pub insisted on turning it back to the ladies hockey, brilliant!

the situation with the "Ireland" team at the olympics is complicated

de jure it is the 26 counties

de facto it is an all ireland (32 counties) team
