I assume Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross is also standing down from his Moray constituency as he too is standing to be an MSP at Holyrood?

Given the continuing chaos amongst the “official” “opposition” parties in Scotland over the #HateSpeech law and the #VONC and the need to take the fight to the Separatists everywhere we
@Alliance4Unity
are now giving consideration to standing in the #AirdrieShotts by-election
Report politicspunter March 24, 2021 7:50 PM GMT
Lol, that would help the SNP greatly Laugh
Report politicspunter March 24, 2021 7:50 PM GMT
What is the true purpose of Alliance4Unity please?

I am backing Labour at 8.0 here, available with a few different bookies.

This is on Thursday. Backed Labour again at 22s. I don't think they will win but at that price...

Not a bad result for Labour here, increasing their vote and reducing the gap to the SNP. Similar results happened in the Glasgow/West/Central constituencies in the Holyrood election. Anas Sarwar has clearly stopped the rot and a bit more but still a long way to go.
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- May 14, 2021 12:27 PM BST
Shirley just tactical voting

Might sit up take notice if
party other than in 2nd place
was picking up votes.

Lab and con could have won if pooled

No greens...

Why did lib dems stand?
Report politicspunter May 14, 2021 12:34 PM BST
The LibDems are rapidly becoming a nonentity and not just in Scotland. They lost 50 deposits out of 73 constituency seats in the Holyrood election. These financial losses are unsustainable long term.
Report politicspunter May 14, 2021 12:36 PM BST
Tactical voting is the norm up there but Labour and the tories have ground the LibDem vote down to almost zilch in places, they are less likely to support each other.
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- May 14, 2021 12:37 PM BST
Squeezed as they don't get on tv.

Some decent council results

And still a brand with a lot
of value.

They rather missed their chance
around brexit picking wrong leaders
Report politicspunter May 14, 2021 12:42 PM BST
The LibDems used to have some real quality MPs. There wasn't a huge number of them but there was no disputing how good they were, particularly some from Scotland and Paddy Ashdown etc.
