Thorntons were the top brand in uk for years with
their shops a delight.

They have shifted their produce into loads of other shops
So why pay to compete?

Accounts department must see figures over last year and be thinking
we don't need these shops.

Nowt to stop them doing pop up shops if required in future for
Easter and Xmas.

Hotel chocolat do much better chocolate anyway, imo

I like paying for decent chocolate, the hotel chocolate sleekster packs of
mini eggs are an absolute joy....

Yum yum.

Each to their own!

I like a bar of dairy milk, but proper chocolates
are miles better, for a treat.

Not sure these are hand made, you pay even more for that!

Why pay so much to landlords when you can flog your wares or open concessions in shops? Commercial landlords will need to be nimble these next few years.

I get about 20 emails a week from them anyway 'order online get 2 for £8 and such.

Can't think it wouldn't have happened sooner or later anyway.

Thorntons chocs are alright, but prefer their toffee.

Before Easter? The problem is obvious town centre shopping is dead not enough people go live shopping to support  traditional shops
Amazon have killed them off but one benefit of Joe Biden getting soppy will be a massive tax bill for amazon Google and Co.

Good shout, I got one of those selection boxes of Ferrero one Xmas, and they were good. Had to throw the dark choc ones away, though.

Not doing your dog any favours with that. Dogs stomachs can't deal with it and the build up can be fatal.

The mystery and luxury of their chocs began to disappear soon after their venture with supermarkets. Thorntons were the chocs until then. It was a place I used to go for b'day and x'mas presents. Now I no longer buy their chocs. A shame.
