I can do the quarantine thing at home after a holiday, as I have an office in the house. I won't be going anywhere I've got to sit in a hotel when I arrive, though

I will book after our second doses of vaccine in April if at all. Probably UK this year but I will be hoping to get to the Algarve or Andalucia in early 2022.

Had a flight to Greece in September that I've moved to first week of June, not hopeful that I'll be going though.

Also got tickets for York's Dante meeeting May that again were carried over from last year and even less hopeful about them.

Restrictions will be lifted to what Degree who knows , once the vaccine has been given to those who need it most , Sadly we have over 50% in some communities who are refusing the vaccine

Do you not believe in Charles Darwin although tbf I would not get a vaccine if I did not need one for travel overseas. I am not an anti Vader, I don’t believe there are micro chips in the vaccine and vaccinations have all but eradicated certain diseases and have their place but I am pretty sure humans would hav3 developed resistance to this virus and the fact we may need boosters every year disturbs me.

I was supposed to be going to Amrika for a wedding and a drive along Route 66 but  that is not happening for now or I do t think it will

We were hoping to go on at least part of a world cruise on the QM2 in 2022 but Covid has temporarily scuppered the transplant programme that my wife is waiting on. Addenbrookes say that obviously Covid has had a massive impact on possible donors (can't tell for 100% certain if donors may have Covid) but also that the hospital is snowed under with Covid related patients.

Cruises are going to be cheap for a couple of years!

Except that old people have the money and after this experience will probably think it better to die on a cruise than in a NHS Hospital

At least Tom got to Barbados to fulfill his dream before the NHS killed him!

We have met folks on board who have only sailed with Cunard, never with anyone else, often over fifty voyages. Every time you sail with them , you build up a better discount, free upgrade etc. Many go last minute and are happy to take the lowest grade of cabin (It's still lovely!) for the lowest price.

People do have short memory. Just a few weeks ago death and infections were rising alarmingly. Just yesterday Capt Moore passed away died from Covid. And, now some are talking about holidays despite government clamping down on arrivals from certain destinations.

The vaccination programme is going as planned however, still only 10m vaccinated so far. Until 75% is reached I believe contemplation of a holiday is too premature and could be disappointment for some.

over 50's should be inoculated by end of April and as soon as the data shows hospitals are empty we can look for the budgie smugglers imho but depends on Johnny Foreigner and how much they want our wonga.

Of course if the Brexit thing is going badly and all signs are that it is a good crisis will keep it off the from pages. Expect a new variant in June!

AT my sentiment about cruises is the same as yours but apparently forward bookings are very high. They could be either Covid free or a death trap. It is not just the question of availability of holidays or the risk of getting stranded that need to be considered. How will we be received in Europe after Brexit and the vaccine saga? I can imagine a lot of hostility from French and Spanish in particular. Practice your language skills and say you are from the Rep of Ireland.

PP foreign to the passengers. The "workers" in the crews are mainly from so called 3rd world countries.

If you have been on many cruises, you will find that the passengers come from multiple countries.

The crew speak in English, amongst other languages.

Ive been on many  cruises. The "workers" were all Phillipine, Goan or Indian. There were no Phillipine, Goan passengers & only a couple from India. I'm sure you comprehend the point that I'm making.

The staff are all very nice folks, I am sure you will agree.

The staff were brilliant. But that's not the point that I'm making!

Pretty sure the cruise ship owners will vaccinate all staff.

Our only cruise was along the Danube starting from the Black Sea up to Budapest. Only just over 100 passengers so I quite enjoyed it. No way would I go on one with 1000 or more, it takes 3 hours to get off, two hours on shore and 3 hours to get everyone back on.

A typical, popular stop off such as Gibraltar or Cartagena, folks are all off in half an hour in the morning, all day at location and you can come back on board anytime up until normally 6pm. That was obviously when we were in the EU! Don't know for certain what delays, if any, there would be now.
