If you want to see it as "you've lost 5k in 12 hours" then you also have to accept he's made 15k in a month or 30k in a year (per coin).

genuine question if a bloke offers 50 mill ,can we assume his bitcoin must be worth 10o0 million plus,if this isnt found does that push the price up or down
does it create space for more so increase price or the opposite,
or is it just countered as still been there in the pot but lost for someone to find,
thats in principle whether story is true or false

Not sure if price is affected either way

21million codes I think will be produced
18.5 out-there.

No replacements
No increase in numbers
So no extra will be produced if you lose, destroy, get hacked,ect...

This is not actually true though is it?

There was such a humungous serious hack about 4-5 years ago that they 'forked' and magically produced another
21 million (called Bitcoin cash) out of nowhere.

I wish you the best shiny, and pleased you have made money, but don't lose sight that bitcoin is not really the
currency it set out to be, it is now a synthetic financial instrument with no tangible deliverable.

Which could push price up dramatically I guess?

Go investigate it.

The majority of information is bla, bla, bla.

Now that the Bitcoin Options market has opened, making it as easy, if not easier, to be able to
profit from a decline in price as a rise in price. Combined with Bitcoin being unregulated and
thus manipulation is not illegal.

This opens it up to all sorts of billion dollar plays, such as:

Buy 1 coin, sell a near price call option, use that money to buy lots of out of the money (OTM) puts.

If the price goes up, you profits are limited by the strike price of the call, if the price goes down
your profits start increasing at an exponential rate as your OTM puts become ITM.

And you can make the price fall drastically by fake (or real) news that undermines confidence, such as one or
more key people in the exchange infrastructure have been detained, hacked, caught in bed with a horse etc.

back in the 80's & 90's when synthetic financials were traded on California's power supply, some people
made millions merely by paying a couple of hundred in back handers to janitors to flick a switch at a pre arranged
time.
California was plagued with blackouts for years until the scam was stopped.

expect the same on bitcoin, times 1,000.

I liked the Italian lottery one where the mafia controlled the folks making the draw. Children actually picked the balls and they were were given new bikes etc if they pulled out the required numbers Grin

Irish Hospital’s Sweepstakes, a lottery that swept the United States, England, Ireland and much of the world for fifty years was a complete scam.

The book entitled ‘The Greatest Bleeding Heart Racket in the World”  by author Damian Corlesss said it was set up to allegedly help rundown Irish hospitals but the proceeds instead went to a small group of wealthy Irish men led by businessman Joe McGrath while the government turned a blind eye .I
Sh1t happens !
The list is endless.

didnt the FCA give a warning early this week or late last week about volitility and be prepared to lose all your money on bitcoin and christine lagarde early this week was talking about looking into regulation on bitcoin and how Escapee explains there the bigger boys could easily manipulate the price to what they want, might be best to tread carefully if you are thinking of buying
By:

Escapee is right .
To an extent ..
But everything can be manipulated when $$$$ involved imo.

Given that mining Bitcoins use more electricity than some countries who thinks it will eventually be outlawed under the guise of climate change?
