Dry January is set to end 1 hour early this year at 11pm.

A bottle of  Dom Perignon is chilling nicely in the fridge.

My only regret is that my grandfather is not alive to see this day. As a WW2 veteran he was anti the EEC from the start and was passionately against the Euro and then the EU.

I remember listening from a young age him forecasting how the Euro would never work. How it will only empower Germany at the expense of everyone else. How right he was.

Well in a few hours the UK will be free for the first time in half a century. Free to embrace our friends in America, the Commonwealth and of course Europe on our own terms as an independent coastal state.

Cheers everyone.

Euro is the world's second reserve currency.

When Euro floated it was worth  0.66 GBP   it is now worth 0.88 GBP. It is only going in one direction.

Whatever you do don't let the facts get in the wayGrinGrin.

The terms will be given to us by both the US and EU.

The Euro reduced the costs of Germany's exports and increased those of Spain, Italy and Greece.

A single monitory policy for the countries as far apart as Greece and Germany has failed as predicted.

Anyway I am not here today to debate. I am here to celebrate the UK's freedom.

However you voted in 2016 today is a day to celebrate our country finally being free.
