Or gone back to use his majority to get an actually good deal now that parliament is unlikely to take the super trump card, a no-deal Brexit, out of his hands.

He has a majority of like a hundred, right? With all his new and shiny MPs being super partisan to begin with.

So don'tcha blame any old parliament for Boris' Great Betrayal being enacted.

Edy, without the backstop the agreement is not in perpetuity.

The United Kingdom will be divided.

The Treaty creates a de facto customs and regulatory border in the Irish Sea between Northern Ireland and Britain. Goods moving between NI and Britain will be checked. Citizens living in NI would effectively be staying in the EU, without any say in their laws, for at least four years after the transition and quite possibly forever. In other words, the UK gives up part of its sovereign territory —for what? (“Backstop” Protocol Articles 5 and 6.2).

The new "non-backstop" is just lipstick on the pig. It is what the EU always wanted (and what Boris and Co. called an annexation back when May was at the helm)

Foinavon • January 24, 2020 9:11 PM GMT
The vassalage was voted through in Parliament, he now has the opportunity to negotiate a proper relationship. If the EUSSR aren't reasonable he could still walk away. His mate Le Maquereau is OK with no deal.

...Why introduce it into parliament instead of going for a clean-break-Brexit (or going for renegotiations with a far stronger hand than before)? Why hand over billions, enter vassalage, hand over NI, why tie yourself in all kinds of knots with the vastly one-sided withdrawal agreement and political declaration?

Why? Seriously? He has a majority of 78. They would've carried renegotiations. They, very likely, would've carried a proper Brexit.

...Instead he pushed his Great Betrayal, The Surrender Act, The Great 21st Century Fleece, through his massive majority. Why?

This time the always scheming Tories aren't going to get in the way of my countdown! 3rd time lucky Excited

In 1957, Konrad Adenauron instructed the goldsmiths of Luxembourg to craft five rings. One ring for the leader of each initial member of Euratom. One ring he crafted himself in the blazing flames of the Zugspitze. A ring more powerful than any other.

One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Over the following years, more and more rings were crafted, each of them given to leaders whose will Adenauron and his successors as Bundesdarkoverlord*ette of the Federal Republic of Germador. With minds that were easy to bend and control, Germador's might increased with each leader bound by The One Ring.

On a fateful day in 2016, Angela Merkron was drunk with power, this was to change. The people of Yorkshire and surrounding areas full of small people, but with heart that more than made up for their lack of stature, started to see through Germadorian Reign of Terror. Cracks had started to show in the illusion created by Merkron's ring. The leader of Yorkshire at the time, Sméaresa, however was reluctant. She liked the ring. She was addicted to the ring. So she tried to pretend that she took it off to free the country, but she never did. In each unobserved moment she would go back to the ring - go back to her precious. The longer Smearesa was under the rings ban, the more it twisted her mind and body until she was barely recognisable anymore.

Then, in 2019, Bojo Baggins came upon the ring while adventuring in a freezer. Smearesa had lost it there when she got some frozen peppermint for her world-renowned peppermint sauce. She needed it for her feast planned for later in the day - she meant to kill and eat Bojo Baggins. The somewhat stocky man with the big heart was able to trick her with a clever game though and was able to escape.

The Ring was now Bojo's. The young Baggins was ringcurious, but each time he threatened to be sucked in by The Ring's power, his best friend and comrade, Jacobwise Rees-Moggee, came to his rescue and made him stay strong. They knew it couldn't continue like this. Eventually, Bojo would give in to The Ring, so they made their way on an epic journey. For The Ring needed to be destroyed, and it could only be destroyed where it had been made. The Ring had to be thrown into the flames of the Zugspitze.

They met all kinds of opponents bla bla bla, had awesome companions, eventually reached their target, almost fell into the flames, threw the ring in, Bojo met the love of his life, they lived happy ever after and made lots of little Bojo's.

- The End -
