Took over a rampant economy and screwed it up by taking money away from them that has it (entrepreneurs and wealth creators) and spent it all on quangos and the civil service.

Gordon Brown wouldnt get voted on to a board of school governors never mind as PM yet we have to suffer the duffer.

Labour got in because too many thick people get to vote. There should be a means test around IQ in order to get the vote.

Billions of debt and no incentives for people to work (why work when you can get loads of social benefits and housing for doing nothing) or strive to improve themselves (well done son - you now pay 50% tax for your success).

Its all very depressing and will take a decade for us to recover.

Good post but this is wrong

"spent it all on quangos and the civil service."

No - they spent it on layabouts and immigrant handouts.

Kev - they do this every time.

I'm not adverse to public spending - but where has ALL the money gone in last 12 years?

Crime, Education, Transport, NHS??

Why IQ? Despite testing at 162, I think this is the wrong measure. It's possible to be lazy and intelligent as I hope to demonstrate within five years. The real issue is people changing or biasing the law in a direction which leaves them not paying a pro-rata proportion of the cost which those laws attract. By implication, a system which charges by usage would be fairer, but rather than measuring this it's easier to restrict government to essentials allowing other persons to provide services subject to minimum standards.
