Bloody hell.
Wouldn`t take much to get 10/10 out of gus and Nearctic.
I would qualify my vote above to some extent.
In the light of history Blair will stand out as a personality ( for good or ill ). The other two will probably line up with Bonar Law and Douglas-Home.

And it is no coincidence that the one with 0 has never and will never win an election to lead Labour, or to win a GE.

One former PM costs us £6million a year to protect-although he earnt £16million last year he conributes nothing-another has dispensed with the security he is entitled to.Which one is the socialist?

On a brighter note.....

7 Major 6 or 0 Blair and 1 for Brown. Blair was a clear game of two halves, had some good aspects until 2nd term which was a big mistake in hindsight.

I, Mister E, returning officer for the constituency of Betfair, announce that, after discounting spoiled ballot papers, the result for election as best of the last three PMS was as follows:

MAJOR, John 95
BLAIR, Anthony Charles Lyndon 55
BROWN, James Gordon 33

I duly announce John Major as the winner
Report salmon spray December 28, 2009 11:32 AM GMT
Just remind me.
Who was Major ?
Report sibaroni December 28, 2009 11:34 AM GMT
Major was the guy who inherited a wreck of an economy from Thatcher and handed over a strong growing economy to Blair. He is also the guy who got the IRA to lay down their arms. History will treat him very kindly.

Perhaps it like football referees. If you don't notice them, they are doing a good job.
Report salmon spray December 28, 2009 12:11 PM GMT
I agree about the economy to an extent, but I suspect people forget the complete disarray of Major`s government from 1992 onwards. Half the cabinet was plotting against him, Major`s own personal priority appeared to be motorway cones and then he started banging on about " family values " which led to the demise of several prominent Tories ( And of course he was screwing Edwina ffs. )
Report Mister E December 28, 2009 12:50 PM GMT
Major was to Thatch what Brown is to Blair.

Took over a Party that was factionalised after a long leadership by a dominant character, MPs with an alternative view had been exiled on the back benches, and riddled with people on the look out for an easy fast pound.
Report sibaroni December 28, 2009 1:24 PM GMT
Major went on to win a General Election however.
Report salmon spray December 28, 2009 1:31 PM GMT
He did, but I was making the point it all went pear-shaped after 1992.
There was an improvement in the economy after Clarke became Chancellor, but the electorate didn`t notice amongst all the sleaze and in-fighting.
