After only a few months Griffin has abandoned the people of the North West, who only recently elected as him as their Euro MP, and decided to contest a seat in a place which he described as

She won't crucify him. she won't have to try; there is precisely zero chance of him winning and not worth a thread imo.

Griffin standing in Barking is entirely apposite.

Pet rant... :)

Barking is not in east London.
It does not have an E. postcode
It may be under the London Borough of Barking, but it's in Essex.

Griffin has no chance of winning the seat.

Barking used to be one of the places the people from Newham used to want to move to in the 60s and 70s. I should know as I lived there in 1977.

It resembles Ilford and Dagenham (also in Essex, not east London)

Nobody who wanted to move there 30 years ago would want to move there now.

Safe seat for anybody except the BNP, like Newham.

I agree with you Sib but I wish bookies (Paddy) could share your confidence, they make the BNP as low as 7/2 shot to take Barking.

If it's on here I'll lay it

BC, in that case you can back Labour at 2/9 with VC.

2/9 is the safest bet you will ever see

Agree Pandora, but multi billion pounds bookies are limiting stakes to £200 on 2/9 shot.

Is this the Childrens Minister Hodge who covered up abuse in kids homes?
Not much ammo for Griffen here I dont suppose?

And she looks like a chipmunk.

It is indeed the very same Islington champagne socialist Hodge, a truly appalling MP and human being, wherever your party politics lie.
If the burghers of Barking were stupid enough to vote for Hodge, they are stupid enough to vote for Griffin.i

Richard Barnbrook got almost 5k votes in Barking last time round (vs 12/13k for Labour).

One eyed Nick may pull off a suprise. Stranger things have happened.

(unless of course the constituency boundaries have changed)

How long ago did Barnbrook get 5k votes?

Barking now gets the immigrant overspill from Newham, which is geographically next door, while more of the indigenous move out to rural Essex and beyond.

Harder to get votes this time imo.

Barking IS London
Only for purposes of postcodes is it not.
The main arbiters are Ordnance Survey, but also Boroughs.

It is not Barking, or Ilford or Dagenham come to that, in the county of Essex.
They are in LONDON Boroughs....

It's in London.

I think Griffin will do okay and wouldn't lay any price bigger than 7-2.

It's a clever choice of constituency because Hodge (perhaps unfairly) is thought to represent everything wrong with NL. The BNP finished third last time and there's no way they won't finish second (at least) this time round. It's a win-win for NG, alas.

IT AIN'T.

Last week there was a crime reported on the BBC, and they said it was Romford, east London.

You wouldn't want too facking walk it from East Ham on a cold night.

Could be interesting if it gets dirty, with Griffin getting all the nazi stuff, then him going to town on the children cover-up. It could finish her, even though she will win the seat.

I shouldn't imagine all but a very few would pay much attention to Griffin during the GE. Side show.
