I simply cannot understand how the people of Europe have been hoodwinked into believing this whole charade is good for anyone other than those fiddling the coffers.

Here in this country we were lied to, then the treacherous one slipped quietly away and signed the country up to the whole sham whilst we were not looking.

How has it been allowed to happen, Europe wide?

Scary stuff indeed.

The Eurosceptics have been saying that for years. In fact - economically and socially - the EU has been great for everyone, imo.

i have no problem with the concept of eurpean unity but fail to understand why it has been good for everyone economically especialy the british taxpayer.

Norway and Switzerland are just about the two richest countries in europe and neither are in the EU

possibly the population of Europe prefer spending a few bob per annum on imroving their infrastrucure and ensuring food security to bludgeoning each other to death every 20 years?

Wrong gus.
It must be about time for us to have another pop at the bloody Germans and hand the French their country back on a plate.
Helps prevent overpopulation too.

Spot on gus. Time to get the chunnel closed down, get tunneling under the Atlantic and get those yellow bellies of Europe sorted out once and for all.

Dr J,
The Eurosceptics have been saying that for years. In fact - economically and socially - the EU has been great for everyone, imo.

Not all Eurosceptics are right wingers and the above statement is frankly ridiculous, not so long ago it was allowing food mountains to rot to inflate farm prices and subsidise inefficient farmers while people were literally starving to death. Its undemocratic hugely beauracratic and frankly a gravy train for failed domestic politicians.

You mean you disagree with the European gravy train yet don't feel compelled to bludgeon anyone to death, BB?

It was such good fun watching the French farmers blockade trucks from the UK over the years, thank goodness we are part of a united Europe.....

Its been good for me-the single farm payments provide a nice income boost. Choo choo for the gravy train.

How is what has happened to us and whats going on in Europe any differant to what we are supposedly fighting in Iraqi and Afganistan about.

Just because what happens here is sugar coated by Sky media corporation etc doesn't make it any differant.

Yes how can the people of Europe accept a system based on democracy and trade involving nearly all the nations of the continent. It's a ridiculous notion.
How much better it was in the old days - say 1913 and 1938. Now they were great years.

Kisa, Trade yes, but you cant count democracy as one of the current EU's traits

Some people are actually suggesting that we would be at war with one or more European country if we were not in the EU?. Risible tosh.

Ah democracy, that old chestnut.

Yes, the new republic was brought together by such democratic means, silly me.

A typical example of how brainwashed some people are today, it is quite scary what could happen next with Lisa as a typical example of a product of european society.
