CCTV cameras are being fitted inside family homes by council 'snoopers' to spy on neighbours in the street outside, it was revealed today. The £1,000 security cameras have been placed inside properties but are trained on the streets to gather evidence of anti-social behaviour. Suppose you had neighbours who were constantly causing you problems ... chucking rubbish in your garden or stones at your windows or intimidationg your kids.
So you go to the cops and complain, but, of course, every time a copper is around the neghbours behave ... so how to you prove they're causing a real problem and its not just you being hyper-sensitive, short of having a a cop hiding in your house 24/7, which i'd guess would be a lot more costly than a CCTV.

Like many parts of London, Croydon is a very apartheid borough. In the North of the Borough there are many poor people. This is where the crime is. There is actually a very definite and tangible dividing line, past which, it's rarely safe to venture after dark.
