Staff at the Student Loans Company received almost £2m in bonuses last year......SLC admitted that some £1,893,500 was paid in bonuses during 2008-09. Three bosses received £21,000 bonuses, while two got payouts of £15,000 and five were given £10,000.
Some 1,603 of the SLC's 1,876 staff picked up rewards.
ffs what does that say about the 273 employees who didn't receive a bonus?
And it estimated that currently 70,000 students are still waiting for their loans and universities are having to temporarily bail them out. Presumably, when the SLC has finally caught up with the backlog they will be able to slap themselves on the back and qualify for another bonus!!

What they really should call it is 'non-consolidated pay'.
Basically, it is how the Civil Service give people their salary, but then don't add that salary onto next year's pay automatically.
It is not a bonus at all.
