Received a letter today from the pension service, it was inside a brown envelope, with the type of envelope printed in the top left corner, ENV 27, but the delivery service used was UK MAIL, now does this not show this governments attitude towards ROYAL MAIL and their intention to run ROYAL MAIL down, ready for privatisation?
Disgusting!!!

It's a lot more complicated than that.

EU legislation has 'forced' governments to open up their postal services to competition. The argument being the customer has been getting a poor service from the monopolistic postal sectors. As from 2011 postal monopolies will be banned.

When you look at the UK, the service is not getting better (or doesn't appear to be) yet prices are continually rising above the rate of inflation. Customers, who use the postal services might favour some competition, if it can improve the service and stabilise, or reduce, the costs.

bazzar-as a taxpayer I want my postage costs minimised. To pay more than necessary would be disgusting.

With UK MAIL, the charge to the customer is exactly the same, but the ROYAL MAIL employees deliver their mail and the cost to UK MAIL is charged at a less rate by ROYAL MAIL, as regards the EU directive, we do not take any noyice of the directive which says all weights and measure must be METRIC, particularly in the case of the horseracing taking place today, each horse runs under stones and pounds and over distances of miles and furlongs, yet at least one man has been fined for selling his fruit and vegetables under the imperial system, one law for the rich and powerful, another law for the poor.

The majority of rises have occurred under Crozier and his cronies, all to cause unrest and anger amongst ROYAL MAILS customers, they have been deliberately employed to cause problems, by this dishonest government.
