That reminds me of Michael Foot when he was Labours leader, he turned up in his donkey jacket. He was likened to an "out-of-work navvy".
You had to laugh.

Churchill, were you one of those tw@ts at school prayers who grassed to the teacher when someone else didn't close their eyes (and were too stupid to realise the fatal flaw in their cunning plan)?

So i'll ask you again, do you equate todays ceremony with school prayers?
The stinking stench of a sc*mbag zanu- labour voter poisoning the thread.

agree with goring. doesn't represent anyone anyway other than a few kirkcaldy jocks. Brown has nothing to do with anything good about the country in any event so hardly surprising he doesn;t have a clue how to handle a remembrance ceremony.

The trouble is Arsenal he represents us enough to sign our liberty away to Brussells. We've seen this morning how many men and women died protecting our liberty. He gives it away without asking us.

agree Churchill. but until we have a US style system, there is scope for an unelectable weasel to sneak in the back door of number 10. still think labour could ditch him before the next election if the polls get worse.

... there is nothing quite like Remembrance Sunday for bringing out sanctimonious pr@ts (mjt, Churchill, Arsenal Oldie) trying to cloak their political points-scoring under cover of remembering the fallen and then hypocritically denouncing those who challenge them.

Oh dear, mjt the main sewer outlet for various smears, libels and poisonous drips over the last couple of years gets on his high horse (probably the moral equivalent of a shetland pony). You can add hypocritical **** to the list.

Rydal - you may not like the messengers but the message is clear. And no cloaking necessary - Brown is not fit (and never has been fit) to lead this country.

Brown. The only politician not to bow his head at the cenotaph
He wont have done himself or his party any favours, millions of people will have seen him today. He obviously doesnt value the sacrifice people have made for all of us.

Tut, tut, lots of people not using this occasion to remember our war dead but poring over their etiquette guides. Very bad form

Gosh, I'm sure you numpties will be writing to the palace about the HUGE lack of respect shown by the Princess Royal wearing trousers. And did I see Cameron instinctively look at his watch during the 2 minutes silence? Plenty of material for the sanctimonious simple-minded there...

He could have bowed his head easily enough, he really struggled to bend down to lay his poppy wreath but I reckon that was due to the bullet proof vest he probably had on.
